WWE trade expected to take place on SmackDown

As per reports, WWE is expected to complete a much-anticipated trade on SmackDown tonight.

Cody Rhodes made an appearance on The Grayson Waller Effect at Payback. He announced Jey Uso's return to the Stamford-based promotion after the latter had quit the company a few weeks ago. The American Nightmare stated he pulled some strings backstage to get Jey on RAW. The wrestling promotion later revealed that following the former Tag Team Champion's move to RAW, one RAW Superstar would be traded to SmackDown.

According to Fightful Select, WWE hasn't forgotten this storyline, as they often do. They added that the company is planning to complete the trade as early as tonight. And it will involve someone equal to Uso's stature, if not higher. It may also be noted that since Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso are the current Undisputed Tag Team Champions, the two can appear on either brand.

Sean Ross from Fightful Select also posted an update on his Twitter regarding the same. He believes the reveal will take place tonight on SmackDown.

"Can confirm that as of Thursday, WWE planned to reveal who would be traded for Jey Uso on WWE Smackdown tonight," he wrote.

It will be interesting to find out which RAW Superstar is traded to SmackDown. Considering a superstar of high stature, he might be the one to challenge The Tribal Chief for his championship next.

Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso defended their titles on WWE RAW

Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso defeated Finn Balor and Damian Priest of The Judgment Day in their first match as a tag team to win the Undisputed Tag Team Championship. Their first title defense was against the team that lost their championship belts to the members of The Judgment Day.

On the most recent episode of the Monday Night Show, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn challenged the new champions to a title match. The duo accepted the challenge, and the two teams faced each other in the main event. The pairing of Rhodes and Uso eventually won the bout to retain their title.
