WWE News: Possible botch in US Title Match

We wonder how many of you caught this big botch
We wonder how many of you caught this rather obvious botch

What's the story?

WWE Clash of Champions got off to a great start thanks to a splendid Championship match between Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode. Ziggler picked up an upset victory and won the United States Championship.

What caught our attention, however, is the massive botch during the match. It wasn't a botched mo, but instead, the fact that Ziggler's music played following his big win.

In case you didn't know...

Baron Corbin came into the match as the United States Champion and looked to be on the verge of victory. Right before he delivered an End of Days to Roode, Ziggler reversed the move into a Zig Zag.

However, it was a botch after the match concluded that we will be detailing in the article. Something that is a direct contradiction of Ziggler's current gimmick.

The heart of the matter

Over the past few months, Ziggler has been criticizing superstars with grand entrances saying that when the bell rings, they are a shadow of the Show-Off. In line with the same, while his music begins every time he comes to the ring, it is shut down soon after.

Ziggler arrives to the ring in absolute, utter silence. And yet, after he won the United States Championship, WWE played his song to commemorate his big win. This was not only a botch but also a direct contradiction of everything that Dolph Ziggler stands for, in kayfabe.

What's next?

Baron Corbin did not seem too thrilled about Dolph Ziggler's win. One assumes that the two men will feud next. Bobby Roode may also be part of the mix.

Author's take

This was an oversight from WWE and one that not many fans may notice. However, for those who do, this was a cardinal sin.

Based on all the promos that Ziggler has been cutting about entrances, he should be ashamed of himself (in kayfabe).
