Akatsuki from Naruto is one of the most nefarious organizations in the series, and some of its members have played a huge role in the overall plot of the story. The organization boasted some of the strongest characters in the series like Itachi, Obito, and Nagato, who successfully defeated some of the strongest shinobis in Naruto.

Ever since this organization was introduced in the series, fans have compared the members with each other and ranked them based on strength and combat skills. While the organization includes some of the most impressive combatants in the series, it also has a few members who are nowhere near as formidable.

While many names come to mind when the weakest member of the Akatsuki is mentioned, there are some standouts like Hidan, Sasori, and Black Zetsu. These three could be considered the cream of the crop when it comes to the weakest characters in Akatsuki, but which one of them could be considered the weakest of the whole group?

Before we delve into this subject, it is important to understand the criteria for choosing suitable characters for this comparison. The weakness of a character is tied to their deficient ninjutsu techniques, battle intelligence, strength, and overall combat abilities on the battlefield. Now that we have defined the criteria for selection, let’s take a look at who is the weakest member of the Akatsuki from Naruto.

The first person to come to mind when speaking about the weakest members of the Akatsuki organization is Hidan. He was single-handedly defeated by Shikamaru during the earlier parts of the series. But his immortality outclassed Asuma Sarutobi, thus making him somewhat stronger.

Sasori is also another name that could be one of the weakest characters in Akatsuki from Naruto. He was considered the master puppeteer from the Hidden Sand Village but was outclassed by his grandmother and Sakura Haruno. But he was still able to kill his grandmother before he was defeated himself, making him a little bit stronger.

White Zetsu is also one of the weakest characters from Akatsuki, if not the series. From the start of the series, he has played a supporting role in the revival of his mother, Kaguya Otsutsuki, but has never been involved directly in the plot.

This character has little to no techniques that would be useful in a one-on-one fight. He can split his body into two and communicate with the other half through roots that extend underground. His abilities are more suited to the role of a spy since he was able to transport himself to different places quickly through techniques like Mayfly, which happens to be his signature technique.

So, even though he was a mastermind, all brain, and no brain could make Zetsu the weakest member of the Akatsuki. He is capable of using Wood Release but has nowhere near Hashirama's level of expertise, therefore rendering it unsuitable for battle.

Characters like Hidan and Sasori, who are considered to be among the weakest members of the Akatsuki, could easily beat Zetsu in a battle, thus indicating that Zetsu is the weakest member of Akatsuki.
