Annihilation is a three-phase boss fight, and the jump in difficulty from Phase One to Phase Two can be a lot for some players. So, it is best to save your Relics and heals for the second phase of this boss. Here are all the moves Annihilation will pull out during the first phase of his fight in Remnant 2:

  • More often than not the first attack that Annihilation will throw your way will be an overhead slash with his sword. This is extremely easy to dodge, so make sure you don't lose any health to this attack.
  • Annihilation will also do a shockwave attack during the first phase; you can see it coming since it drags its sword forward on the ground to release the shockwave. However, If Annihilation drags the sword backward, you can expect it to spawn explosive balls. You can use the Enigma pistol to deal with the explosive balls with ease.
  • Annihilation will occasionally bury its sword into the ground; this will spawn roots from the ground and trap the player. Be sure to dodge it, since the roots will leave you vulnerable.
  • The final attack you will see in Phase One is when Annihilation flies into the air and slams his sword into the ground, this is easy to dodge since the audio cue for this attack is easy to catch.

Now all you need to do is dodge these attacks and take advantage of his downtime. Aim for Annihilation's weak spot with any weapon that is capable of dealing high damage until you eventually take away the boss' first health bar.

Now, the fight will move into Phase Two. Here are all the attacks you need to be wary of during the second phase of your fight:

  • During the second phase, Annihilation's most common attack is a sideways sword sweep. This is easy to dodge because of its audio cue, which is extremely hard to miss.
  • Annihilation will also spawn red grids into the arena during the second phase; these can be dodged by moving into the empty spaces between the grids. Make sure you avoid the red parts because they can take a lot of your health away.
  • The arena for the second phase is also different and you'll have to look out for the root tendrils that are placed around the room.

Occasionally, Annihilation will switch between the first and second areas of its boss fight; you should make note of this to avoid being caught off guard. All attacks from the first phase will still be in play and will be much harder to dodge now. Moreover, the explosive orbs that spawned in front of you during the first phase will now spawn directly above you in phase two.

Now, your focus during the first phase of your fight with Annihilation will be on dealing high damage as quickly as possible. You will dodge, attack, and dodge again until the final boss of Remnant 2 is at your feet. However, the strategy for phase two is completely different. Now you should focus more on defense.

The second phase is fast, and almost everything around you can kill you. So, focus on dodging Annihilation's attacks and pick your moments to deal damage. Be patient, keep dodging, and only attack when you're certain you can get a shot off and still have time to dodge Annihilation's upcoming attack.

After this, the third phase of the fight will begin. All Annihilation does during this phase is spawn minions who will try and take you out. Instead of fighting, focus on running away from its minions, and the fight will end on its own after a few seconds.
