Anthony Edwards is one of the most complete young players in the game today. He can shoot the rock, pass, defend at a high level, and, most importantly, has a killer instinct on the court. Drafted in 2020 by the Minnesota Timberwolves, he was the number one pick in the first round of the draft.

Edwards’ veteran teammate Karl Anthony Towns said “Sky's the limit for Anthony Edwards,” in Podcast P with Paul George. Even though the Timberwolves are not a championship-contending team yet, the alpha of the pack is by far, Anthony Edwards.

In the 2023 FIBA World Cup, where Team USA had rising stars like Jaren Jackson Jr, Austin Reeves, Tyrese Haliburton, Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, and many more, Edwards was the best player on the team and it was not even close. During a game against Germany where Team USA was trailing behind, Edwards erupted for 34 points and played amazing defense which helped in a comeback, and ultimately team USA won the game.

Steve Kerr, who was the head coach for Team USA in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, said “He’s (Edwards) unquestionably the guy.” It is clear that Edwards wants to be the best player in the league and if the Minnesota Timberwolves make some minor tweaks to the roster, they can go much deeper in the playoffs.

Anthony Edwards Championship Rings,

Edwards has not won a championship ring yet. He is one of the youngest stars in the league today at just 23 years old with a very bright future ahead of him. He plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves and has recently put the team back on track again when it comes to their playoff success.

In 2022-23, when the Timberwolves faced the Denver Nuggets (who are the reigning champions going into the 2023-24 season) in round one of the NBA playoffs, Edwards put on a show. Edwards averaged 31.6 points, 5.2 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field and 34.9 percent from beyond the arc.

In game 2 of the 2023 NBA playoffs, Edwards dropped 41 points on the Denver Nuggets. Patrick Beverley, who was Edwards’ former teammate, said “Edwards can be the next Michael Jordan. He does everything right, he does not indulge in bad influences. Rather he just works on his game and plays video games.” Via Old Man and The Three Podcast.

Edwards also thanks Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr for the work ethic that he has developed. Edwards told the reporters that Kerr said “You need to watch Steph, Klay, and KD workout.” This made Anthony Edwards take his training a notch higher.

Edwards’ combination of scoring prowess, athleticism, and defensive potential, could make him the next superstar in the NBA. Anthony may very well be a top-five player in the NBA soon. After a stellar season last year, this may finally be the year that Edwards becomes a true superstar alongside Karl Anthony Towns.
