Born on February 8, 1990, in Los Angeles, California, Klay Thompson is an American professional basketball player who plays as a shooting Guard for the Golden State Warriors and has completed ten seasons in the NBA. He attended Washington State University, where he played college basketball for three seasons before declaring for the NBA draft. Thompson was selected by the Warriors in the first round of the 2011 NBA draft and has since become one of the most prolific shooters known for his scoring ability, defense, and clutch performances in important games.


He has also been a five-time NBA all-star and a two-time All-NBA third-team honoree and was named to the Rookie First Team in 2012 and the Defensive Second Team in 2019. He holds the record for most three-pointers made in a single game with 14. He and his colleague Stephen Curry, are collectively known as "The Splash Brothers,".
