Hockey: India thrash Belgium in two match series

Indian hockey team has thrashed Belgium hockey team 6-0 to win the final test match and thus finishing the series with a 2-0 win. Sandeep Singh shined again for the team and scored two of 6 goals for the team.

There were two goals from the Indian team in first half by Sandeep Singh in18th minute and Danish Mujtaba in 29th minute. Indians had made their intention clear when they started the game with good passing, and swift rotations. Rajpal Singh played his role as captain and he made moves in the early stages.

Bharat Chetri did his job in the goal and made two vital saves. Belgium earned 8 penalty corners in the game but Bharat and his defense cleared every one of them. PC expert Dhanjay Mahadik scored goal in 44th minute to give lead to India. Striker Tushar Khandekar scored goal with an effort involving the captain Rajpal Singh in 45th minute of the game.

The goal by Tushar gave the team a license to go for full attack and the team got dividends for it, when Swaranjit Singh scored a goal from the support of Ajitesh Roy and Mandip Antil.

Last minute of the game saw, Rajpal Singh being pushed to the ground and earning a penalty stroke which as easily converted by Sandeep Singh.

This win gave India 2-0 series win. First match was drawn 3-3, India won the second game 3-2.

Sandeep Singh was the top scorer of the tournament with 6 goals in three matches.

India will now go to Paris to play 3 test matches against France.
