India beat France 4-3

India beat France in the first hockey test match played in Paris. Two goals from Sandeep Singh and one each from Tushar Khandekar and Rajpal singh gave Indian team a 4-3 victory over French team.

This victory was far from convincing. Rajpal Singh managed to score goal in the last minute which gave Indians a victory against 17th ranked team.Tushar Khandekar started the proceedings for India as early in 5th minute when he scored the goal for the team. But France equalized next minute with a goal from Fredric Soyez.Sandeep Singh who is in great form scored two goals for the team in 12th minute and 65th minute of the match. Fredric Soyez scored hat-trick in the match with goals coming in 6th, 51st and 68th minute.In the end it was captain Rajpal Singh who scored a winner for the team when he scored a goal in 69th minute to give India a victory.The match was evenly contested and India did face few problems in the match. The defense was not functioning properly.With the nation hoping for a medal in upcoming Asian games and CWG. It is very difficult to win a medal. Indian team needs a strong defense, Sandeep Singh though an important part of the team is unable to provide much wanted help to the team defensively. The team will have to find a solution to this problem if they want to win a medal in the oncoming games. Till then, let the team enjoy its win, though last minute, its their hard work
