NZ won by 79 runs.
Player of the match: Devon Conway

Thank you for joining us- Mohul Bhowmick and Pradeep- here. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda! Until next time, goodbye!
Kane Williamson, captain of New Zealand: You never really know completely, do you (when asked as to how he was so sure to bat first on this surface) but we were fortunate to get over the line today. Conway and I tried to build a partnership and take the total towards 300 but it fizzled out in the middle. Our bowlers were fantastic today, especially the seamers who got the breakthroughs first up. The spinners were on top of their game too. Happy to win this game.
Babar Azam, captain of Pakistan: We lost wickets early, and that is what we did wrong. When Rizwan and I were batting, we were trying to build  a partnership. When Agha Salman came to the crease, he stepped the game further and tried to increase the scoring rate. New Zealand's bowlers were on top of the game, and full credit to them. We will be prepared to face them on Friday.
Devon Conway, Player of the Match: We did try targeting 300 today, but somehow it did not come off. Credit to Kane for hanging in there with me and helping steady the ship. A lot of credit needs to be given to him. We have adjusted to the pitches somehow and hopefully, will continue scoring runs. You have to be proactive when you're playing spin.
Mitchell Santner, New Zealand: It (the surface) did spin a bit more than it does usually. Don't know why that was so. Good performance by the lads. We knew that we needed to pick wickets early and that we had to get rid of Babar and Rizwan as quickly as we could. Happy with my bowling as well.
New Zealand beat Pakistan by 79 runs!

Devon Conway 101 (92) | Mohammad Nawaz 4/38
Kane Williamson 85 (100) | Naseem Shah 3/58

Pakistan never really seemed to be in the chase, and this is what will hurt them tremendously. Skipper Babar Azam was the sole batter who kept them in the hunt till the end (in the process, becoming the batter with the highest batting average in One Day International history) but once he was dismissed via a wily stumping by Tom Latham, it was all downhill for the hosts.

Pakistan lost two wickets early on in their innings, and that set them back even before they had got set. Rizwan and Babar got a partnership going, but the former was castled by a beauty from Mitchell Santner that spun away very late after pitching on off and middle. There was nothing that Rizwan could have done to that delivery. It did seem that Pakistan were playing a batter short, and they got exposed today.

New Zealand were served extremely well by their spinners Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi but it would be unfair to their seamers Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson to say that they did not make an impact. The latter mentioned duo broke the home team's batting order early on in the innings, and it is only fitting that each of the bowlers bagged at least a wicket. New Zealand were the better side overall, and deserve this result.

42.6 Ish Sodhi to Haris Rauf, OUT! MILES UP IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! That's it, New Zealand square the series, 1-1 with one game to go. Rauf dances down the track to launch the length delivery out of the park but he's skied it and the long-off fielder takes a comfortable catch. What a come back this from New Zealand to win the second game!

Haris Rauf c Michael Bracewell b Ish Sodhi 0 (3b 0x4 0x6)
42.5 Ish Sodhi to Haris Rauf, OH! A googly this time, good length delivery, turned into Rauf on the stumps, gets behind to defend.
42.4 Ish Sodhi to Haris Rauf, tossed up on the stumps, Rauf lungs into the good length and keeps it out.
Haris Rauf, RHB, is the last man to the crease.
That was probably the closest stumping that we have seen this year!
42.3 Ish Sodhi to Babar Azam, APPEAL FOR STUMPING! Babar was off-balance as he went to reverse sweep and misses, good presence of mind from Latham there as he whips the bails off quickly. Square-leg umpire goes upstairs to confirm. UltraEdge confirms no bat involved. The foot was off the air for a brief period of time and the umpire is checking another angle now. Split screen has come up now, zoom replay confirms that the foot was in the air when Latham clipped the bails off and the TV umpire signals that as OUT! That should be the game for New Zealand!

Babar Azam st Tom Latham b Ish Sodhi 79 (114 8x4 1x6)
42.2 Ish Sodhi to Babar Azam, length delivery on the off-stump, Babar leans and drives through the covers, Conway comes sliding across the ropes as they scamper through for the brace.
42.1 Ish Sodhi to Babar Azam, SIX! BAM! Stupendous hit from Babar. Drops it short and well outside the off-stump, Babar plans his front foot forward and DISPATCHED it way over deep extra-cover fence for a maximum.
New Zealand are completely in control of this game now. Pakistan are reeling under pressure.
