ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodong says current two-sport ONE world champion Jonathan Haggerty has his sights set on claiming a third world championship on the global stage.

2023 was a banner year for Haggerty, after all. ‘The General’ kicked things off by claiming the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai title via a shocking first-round knockout of Nong-O Hama inside the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

Seven months later, he returned to the iconic venue in Bangkok, Thailand, for a champion vs. champion clash with reigning bantamweight MMA titleholder Fabricio Andrade, and emerged as the new bantamweight kickboxing king.

Haggerty needed less than two rounds to add another highlight-reel knockout to his resume and claim another 26 pounds of ONE gold.

Speaking with Sky Sports, the ONE head honcho suggested that Haggerty will likely sit atop his double throne for the foreseeable future, adding that ‘The General’ already has dreams of three-division glory.

"I think you're going to see him reign for a long time, but at the same time, he's hungry for more,” Sityodtong said. “He has messaged me in the past about wanting to do mixed martial arts and eventually fight for the title as well."

Jonathan Haggerty puts his bantamweight Muay Thai title up for grabs on February 16

On February 16, Jonathan Haggerty will return to the Circle to defend his bantamweight Muay Thai crown against Brazilian striker Felipe Lobo.

‘Demolition Man’ goes into his title opportunity carrying impressive wins over Yodpanomrung, Saemapetch Fairtex, and Rodlek PK Saenchai.

Haggerty steps into his first defense of the bantamweight championship on a five-fight win streak, including back-to-back knockouts in title fights.

Will ‘The General’ add another name to his growing hit list next month, or could Felipe Lobo shock the world and leave The Land of Smiles with a ONE world title wrapped around his waist?

Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America can catch all the action at ONE Fight Night 19 on Prime Video live and for free in U.S. primetime on February 16.
