He first stepped foot into the NFL at the age of 22 and since then he has taken his career to a whole new level. In 2015, in his freshman year (redshirted 2014), he was able to participate in 14 games in the entire season; he finished the following season where he recorded 10 passes for 121 yards and one touchdown. He continued his excellent performance throughout his college career and after having a fantastic run in his college career, he announced in 2018 that he would enter the NFL draft of 2018, skipping senior year.

Coming into the NFL, Schultz was seen as a rare combination of speed, strength, and agility because of his tremendous physical attributes. He weighs around 116 kg and is 6 feet 5 inches tall. The young player thus far in his short career has been a game-changing factor in every game he has played. Dalton Schultz is a professional American footballer who plays as a tight end for the Houston Texans in the National Football League (NFL). Schultz's professional career in the NFL started in 2018, when he was chosen in the fifth round of the NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys. In his debut season with the Cowboys, he performed excellently in every game he played and in the entire season, he recorded 12 receptions for 116 yards. In the entire 2019 season, he was able to participate in 16 games and he finished the following season where he recorded one reception for six yards and one kickoff return for five yards.

Schultz had a career-changing season in 2020 where the Dallas Cowboys gave him the opportunity to start at the tight end position. He continued his top-notch performance week after week and in the year 2021, he finished his last season with the Dallas Cowboys, where he recorded 78 receptions, 808 yards, and 8 touchdowns. In 2023, Dalton Schultz announced that he had signed a new deal with the Houston Texans for one year of $9 million, and in 2024, he secured a three-year $36 million deal with the Texans.
