Bryce Young is an American football quarterback for the Carolina Panthers as of 2024. He was drafted 1st overall by the Panthers in the 2023 NFL draft. The Heisman trophy winner opted to skip his final year at the University of Alabama and enter the 2023 NFL Draft. During his time at the university, he was recognized as an All-American and won several accolades. He had initially planned to stay in California and committed to the University of California for college football. However, he de-committed from USC and decided to join the famed Alabama Crimson Tides football program. Young passed for a total of 8,356 yards and 80 touchdowns during his time in Alabama. Young attended Cathedral High School before shifting to Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California for his final two years to finish his secondary education.

However, Young's success at High School and college did not help him ease into the NFL as he had a disastrous rookie year with Carolina, where the team went 2-14 with him as their primary signal caller. Bryce also had a TD: INT ratio of 11:10. His sophomore season started on the same note as his rookie year as he was benched in favor of Andy Dalton from week 3 onwards. However, Young once again got his starting duty back in week 8, and as of week 12 of the 2024 NFL season, Young has more interceptions (6) than passing touchdowns (5) in 2024.
