Robin van Persie is a Dutch football player who plays as a striker for Manchester United and the Dutch national team. Van Persie was born in an artistic family; his mother Jose Ras is a painter and jewellery designer and his father Bob is a sculptor. A table tennis fan and a Twitter user, Robin is a youth product of Feyenoord. He has been used as a left-sided winger, but is at his best when he is playing as a centre-forward, alongside a target-man team-mate that he can form an effective partnership with.
Van Persie inaugurated his career by joining Arsenal in the year 2004, and made more than 194 appearances and 96 goals for the club. He then signed a four-year contract with Manchester United in August 2012, where he made his first hat-trick against Southampton. As for his international career, he was a U-21 international and took part in the 2004 and 2006 European Championship qualifying as well the 2006 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2008. Additionally, van Persie played at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2012.
