WWE Monday Night Raw preview: April 13, 2015

Last week’s Raw was mediocre at its best. There were some exciting perks of action here and there but on a whole, WWE failed to deliver the goods in a disastrous manner. Just like always, the company will have a chance to make up for the lost ground this week and they need to make sure that everything is set in place. Not many of the storylines saw progression in the previous outing and that needs to be acknowledged this time around when the company hits O2 Arena in London. The fans in United Kingdom are known for their ruthless reactions and WWE are going to pay if they don’t deliver the right goods. So, here is a look at the possible angles that WWE might bring us this week on Raw.

#5 Who will answer Cenas challenge?

John Cena winning the United States Championship at WrestleMania 31 had its positives and its negatives. The negatives were on Rusev while the positives are dominating weekly episodes of Monday Night Raw. The Cenation leader has set up an open challenge for the United States Championship and the suspense of not knowing who is going to come out of backstage is what does the trick here.

For the past couple of weeks, the invitation has been going well for the company and it would be no different this week around. As far as the possible contenders are concerned, Adrian Neville would be a good choice.

He had a solid performance last week against Seth Rollins and a similar outing against Cena would work wonders.

#4 Pleasing the UK fans

WWE has a habit of pleasing the United Kingdom fans whenever they hold a show there. This is done by putting over the superstars from UK and those names include the likes of Paige, Sheamus, Finn Balor, Adrian Neville and Bad News Barrett.

Finn Balor could make his debut in London this week while all the others could get an impressive win. Neville going up against Cena as mentioned in the earlier slide will make the fans happy and so will Balor debuting against Cena. Sheamus might be a heel as things stand now, but he could also get a baby face welcome once the show hits running.

Letting the UK superstars suffer a loss could affect WWE adversely and it’s not a risk that they could afford at the moment.

#3 Settling the Divas Championship puzzle

The Divas Championship situation has been a big question mark after AJ Lee’s departure. WWE is yet to decide on who will face Nikki Bella at Extreme Rules for the title and there are a handful of names in the mix. Naomi and Paige are in the running for a shot and either of the two could get their hands on Nikki.

A triple threat match is also possible involving the two while the twist in the tale would be Brie Bella. There are plans for turning Brie against Nikki at some point and if it happens this week, then Brie will be there at Extreme Rules in time for the title match. The picture will be clear once Raw concludes and WWE will hopefully give the divas a chance.

#2 Making Roman Reigns Busy

Randy Orton was included in the WWE title picture at the expense of Roman Reigns. Reigns actually deserved a shot at the title after what happened at WrestleMania 31 but instead of giving him the shot, WWE went with Orton, who had a one year old rematch clause.

What WWE needs to do now is make Reigns busy. If they are still high on making him the new face of the company, then they should invest him properly for Extreme Rules. Reigns does not have an official storyline at the moment and it is a problem that needs to be solved at an alarming rate.

He could be booked in a match with someone like Bray Wyatt for Extreme Rules or could even be put back into the title picture, either way, WWE needs to have some plan for Reigns.

#1 Building up for the Championship Showdown

The match between Randy Orton and Seth Rollins looks set to headline Extreme Rules in a few weeks and Raw will provide WWE with their first opportunity to build the match. Orton and Rollins have a lot of history in between them and adding the gold into the mix is expected to elevate the feud.

After WrestleMania, both wrestlers also have a lot of momentum on their back which makes the feud even more exciting. Some good innovative angles is what the fans will be looking forward to when it comes to building up the showdown and WWE should stay away from the usual tricks.

Addition of Roman Reings into the picture will be an exciting prospect as mentioned earlier and even if that does not happen, the Orton – Rollins saga should see the addition of a new chapter at Raw.
