WWE Survivor Series 2014: 5 matches that the fans deserve to see at the pay-per-view

WWE’s latest edition of the legendary Survivor Series is hardly two weeks away. The pay-per-view got a big boost by this week’s ground breaking Monday Night Raw. However, one problem that still sticks out about the show on November 23rd is the lack of matches that have been added to it.The writers have only laid down the main event between Team Cena and Team Authority as per now and all the show stealing moments from this week’s Raw came from that angle. Not having proper buildups was something that cost the company at Hell in a Cell and they should not make the same mistakes this time around. So here is a look at five matches that should be added to the Survivor Series match card just because the fans deserve to see these.

#5 Cesaro vs Rusev (United States Championship)

The Bulgarian Brute piled up the insult on America when he defeated Sheamus to win the United States Championship. Many didn’t expect the title change to happen the way it did but now that it has happened, it is time to move on.

Sheamus has all the right to have a rematch with Rusev but WWE should keep it for a weekly show and get someone new for the pay-per-view. The Celtic Warrior would be better suited to be in Team Cena rather than going after the Championship again.

Meanwhile, Cesaro has been on a downward spiral for a long time and he would fit in well in as a challenger for Rusev. Cesaro will be able to bring out the best in Rusev and it would be one good match for sure.

#4 The Miz vs Chris Jericho

WWE currently has no plans on the table for Miz and Mizdow at Survivor Series but having a pay-per-view without the duo is going to spell disaster.

Both Miz and his stunt double are incredibly over with the fans and they are making up the entertainment portion of the shows very well. WWE has a clear shortage of opponents for Miz at the pay-per-view but they could always rely on Jericho.

Jericho is slated for live shows before November ends which means his return is imminent at or before the Survivor Series. Having a match between the real rock star and a wannabe Movie star with Mizdow in the corner will be an entertaining outing.

#3 Ryback vs Curtis Axel

Ryback’s newly found face run is hitting all the right chords with the fans and what he needs to make that run more solid would be a storyline. So far, Ryback has just been booked in random matches with the midcarders and all of those matches had no backstory whatsoever. WWE could change that at Survivor Series by letting Ryback face Axel.

The creative team is yet to acknowledge how the team broke up and this leaves the door open for a feud between the two. Axel recently cut a heelish promo saying that he is back and since Ryback is face, the dynamics are perfect.

Axel would definetly get buried if the match happens, but WWE will end up with a good looking Ryback in the end and the big guy is more bankable.

#2 Sami Zayn vs Adrian Neville (NXT Championship)

The only time we saw the NXT superstars come into the main roster was on Monday night Raw a couple of months back. The tag team match that happened then turned out to be a great success story but the fans were not given a taste after that.

WWE has a big opportunity to change that record at Survivor Series. Currently at NXT, they are running an angle between the champion Adrian Neville and challenger Sami Zayn where Zayn would get one last shot at the title and if he loses, he has to leave NXT.

The stipulation sets well with the Survivor Series theme and it is an angle that deserves a bigger stage. The two men will surely steal the show if given the right opportunity in the match card.

#1 Brock Lesnar vs Anyone (no problem even if its a teddy bear)

WWE’s World champions have been missing for nearly two months now and everyone except the fans seem to be having no trouble about that. Vince McMahon is doing the best he could to make things look better in Lesnar’s absence but he is clearly not a jobber in the roster whose absence won’t be noted.

The No.1 contender for Lesnar’s championship will be tangled in the main event scene with team Authority which means we won’t see a blockbuster match from the beast. Well, at this moment, anything would be accepted by the fans so the WWE could magically make Lesnar appear and at least make him fight a teddy bear.
