WWE No Mercy 2017 Results: Biggest Winners and Losers

Wh
Who really won and lost at No Mercy?

No Mercy is in the books and the Staples Center was treated to a PPV with many high and low points.

Now that the big September offering from WWE is in the rearview mirror, we can reflect on some of the people and ideas which suffered due to the show's outcome. We can also consider those few names that came off the event looking even better.

With seven matches on the main card, there was plenty of action and chances for unexpected events. So let's get into it and try and sort through the rubble after No Mercy.

Winner #4 Roman Reigns

J
John Cena gives his seal of approval

Roman Reigns came away from No Mercy looking like "the guy." Although he might not be "the guy" that's ready yet, he is still obviously being placed in that role. Now it will just be a matter of time before we figure out what the Big Dog is going to do next.

John Cena even went into some detail on his legitimate worries about Roman Reigns not being able to capture that magic.

However, Roman Reigns is apparently being groomed to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. He will also most likely receive his grand coronation at next year's Show Of Shows as well, but he was certainly vetted by John Cena at No Mercy.

After kicking out of four AA's, the Big Dog looked very strong and that's an understatement.

Losers #4 - 205 Live

Tuesd
Tuesdays after SmackDown could get interesting

Enzo Amore is now the WWE Cruiserweight Champion. Honestly, he could have easily been a loser, but we just decided to include the entire 205 Live show because now Enzo represents them.

Neville carried their match which saw little to no offence from Amore who proudly boasted about his middle rope DDT deal during Raw Talk.

Enzo is being booked like a babyface who wins like a heel which is odd. If they're trying to draw heat on Enzo Amore, then it's working but plenty of people are still chanting along with him and picking up his merchandise.

Only time will tell how long Enzo will hold the WWE Cruiserweight Title but, for now, it looks like the entire 205 Live show is being represented by a guy some would consider not worthy of the role.

Winner #3 The Miz

He's
He's still the IC Champion after No Mercy

It is a controversial thought, but The Miz could go down as the greatest WWE Intercontinental Champion of all time. After a very nice battle with Jason Jordan, the Cleveland native got some help from his buddies in the Miztourage and pulled off the win.

With his wife, Maryse, at home cooking up the next generation of Mizanins, it is important for The Miz to establish himself with Dallas and Axel as a formidable team.

These guys pulled it off at No Mercy and set up a segment for the next night on Raw where MizTV will host Roman Reigns. This could easily result in a full Shield reunion which would put Miztourage over even more as a team worth paying attention to.

Loser #3 The Attitude Adjustment (AA)

Four AA'
Four AA's couldn't get the job done

A finishing move is supposed to close out a match and leave your opponent down for the count. Naturally, John Cena has a nice finishing move that has won him many matches during his history with WWE.

But at No Mercy Roman Reigns couldn't be stopped by four Attitude Adjustments. One of the instances even saw John Cena hitting two of them in a row and it couldn't get the job done.

This obviously makes Roman Reigns look very strong, but also give John Cena's AA a weaker role. After all, Cena has closed out matches the several legends of pro wrestling's Modern Era with the same move. But even four of them couldn't get the job done at No Mercy.

Winner #2 Alexa Bliss

Little
Little Miss Bliss is still on top of Raw

Little Miss Bliss has made a career out of coming through situations looking much better than anyone thought she would. Bliss has skirted disaster before and No Mercy probably won't be her last time avoiding defeat.

After a very nice Raw Women's Title match which featured practically every woman on the Raw roster, Bliss was able to score a pinfall over Bayley (we'll get to The Hugger in a bit).

So Alexa Bliss was the one on Raw Talk after the event boasting about how great she was with her title in tow. She really does make a great heel champ and she's even winning over some of the fan base which could eventually see her turning babyface in the future. Of course, that turn will be a very long way away considering how well she's been doing as a bad girl.

Loser #2 Bayley

She
She didn't have the best showing at No Mercy... or recently for that matter.

Once thought as the "female John Cena", Bayley came up from NXT with a hype machine behind her. Even though she had her moments of success, WWE seems to be muting The Hugger recently.

They made her lose in San Jose which started the trend of losing big matches and getting passed up. Then once she actually got a shot at the Raw Women's Title at SummerSlam she was injured by Nia Jax and was taken out of the match.

She made her surprise return, ironically, back in San Jose but at No Mercy Bayley was the one taking the pin in the match. Even with Emma right there to offer her services, The Hugger took the clean loss as Alexa Bliss won the match.

It's going to take a lot for WWE to get The Hugger back to where she was before. I've always been rooting for her but unless she starts to get booked stronger it can't be a good sign.

If she's going to be inserted into a future angle against Ronda Rousey's Four Horsewomen then Bayley needs to look tough enough to hang with them. Not just tough enough to lose and get back up like a Chumbawamba song.

Winner #1 - Enzo Amore

Enzo
Enzo looks just as shocked as we were

Enzo Amore became the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion at No Mercy. While some might look at that as a bad thing for professional wrestling as a whole, it's very good for Enzo Amore.

Enzo's even getting new merchandise proudly declaring how he brings the sauce. Therefore WWE might still realize how much of a merchandising machine he still is.

The Realest Guy In The Room is also single and not afraid to let everyone know it. On Raw Talk following his win, he was asked by Renee Young if he planned on sleeping with his new title Enzo replied: "I think the real question is who's sleeping with me with it."

Following his break-up with Liv Morgan, Enzo seems to be doing just fine. How you doin'?

Loser #1 Braun Strowman

The
The Monster Among Men couldn't beat the Beast Incarnate

Before starting the #1 Loser I have to saw an honourable mention goes to Cesaro and his busted teeth. The damage to his face was gnarly and I never want to see that kind of thing happen again.

But in the end, the top loser honour has to go to Braun Strowman and I place him in this spot with supreme frustration. The Monster Among Men looked great in his match against Brock Lesnar until he took one F5 and then was subsequently pinned clean in the middle of the ring.

Even after taking an onslaught of German Suplexes, Braun Strowman still looked like he could mount a comeback. But where John Cena's AA was made to look very weak, Brock Lesnar's F5 was made to look like a super move and a destroyer of Monsters Among Men.

Let's hope WWE has a plan to recuperate Braun Strowman without making him look weaker in the process. They have an amazing commodity in Strowman and shouldn't squander it.

But at No Mercy, it appeared as though Braun Strowman was fed to Brock Lesnar to make The Beast Incarnate look even more unbeatable in a big match situation.
