A few interesting observations from this week's episode of SmackDown Live (July 30)

From a mysterious wrestler attempting to sabotage Roman Reigns just before SummerSlam to a dream match confirmation between Trish Stratus and Charlotte Flair, this week's edition of WWE SmackDown Live (30th July 2019) featured a lot of contrasting moments.

The blue brand adopted a slightly unique approach to their episode last night, where various plot points left us with pressing questions, and the show eventually ended with a cliffhanger. This is a welcome change as the writers usually play it safe when it comes to SmackDown Live.

Here are a few interesting observations from this week's edition of SmackDown Live:

#3: Why any storyline associated with Bray Wyatt presents multiple conflicts at the same time

If you watched last night's SmackDown Live episode closely, then it became quite apparent that there are multiple plot threads associated with Bray Wyatt's new feud already.

Finn Balor's rattled response to Wyatt's mind games has been a primary factor when it comes to the buildup to their eventual encounter at this year's SummerSlam Pay-Per-View.

On the other hand, The Fiend's chaotic cameos so far make up for the character's uniqueness in general. But aside from what The Fiend is going to unleash against the rest of the roster, it is important to keep in mind that we don't really know the biggest secret behind Firefly Fun House yet.

Although there has already been an article that looked into Firefly Fun House's biggest secrets in the past, only Bray Wyatt knows the true answer behind his cryptic segments.

Ramblin' Rabbit tried to expose the real ongoings inside Firefly Fun House, but we saw how Wyatt's 'children's TV Show host' persona tried to cover it up as quickly as possible.

Aside from matches and future feuds, it looks like WWE will further explore the lore behind what really goes inside the Firefly Fun House.

#2: Why Trish Stratus just accepted Charlotte Flair's match challenge for SummerSlam 2019

It is true. You cannot expect a SummerSlam card without Charlotte Flair being featured on it.

Despite not being the #1 contender for any of the two Women's titles on both shows, the Queen managed to grab an opportunity to be featured in the most commercial women's match at this year's SummerSlam Pay-Per-View.

Fans lit up when Trish Stratus accepted Charlotte Flair's match challenge at SummerSlam 2019 on last night's show.

First of all, the women's division reeds a boost of momentum every now and then. Becky Lynch's peak popularity phase has already passed us by, and perhaps Trish Stratus is the answer to keep the momentum going at this time of the year.

Stratus has managed to stay fit despite not being an active part of the women's roster for years, and on top of that, SummerSlam is taking place in Toronto this year, which just happens to be her hometown.

Moreover, you cannot keep Charlotte Flair on the sidelines for one of the big WWE Pay-Per-Views, and pitting her against a legend like Trish Stratus might have been the perfect announcement for WWE fans this week.

#1: Roman Reigns being intentionally sabotaged proved to be an interesting cliffhanger for next week's show

First of all, we rarely get to witness offbeat endings on SmackDown Live nowadays, and that is why last night's episode was an interesting exception.

Roman Reigns escaping a backstage calamity raises a pressing question for next week's show: Who attacked Roman Reigns, and why?

Buddy Murphy is currently the most interesting choice, and things look hopeful as the 'Best Kept Secret' was spotted fleeing the scene of crime backstage. Samoa Joe would be too obvious of an a choice since he has established himself as one of Reigns' most recent foes in memory.

Anyways, even though the setup to this particular segment looked odd (and awkward), it is hard to dispute the fact that Eric Bischoff wants to hold the viewer's attention in the long run.

Who tried to intentionally sabotage Roman Reigns in your opinion? Also, what are your thoughts on Trish Stratus wrestling against Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2019?
