34-year-old to turn heel for the first time to join Damage CTRL on WWE SmackDown? Exploring potential twist

A 34-year-old WWE Superstar could decide to turn heel for the first time tonight on SmackDown and join the Damage CTRL faction.

The group debuted on the main roster following the RAW Women's Championship match at SummerSlam 2022. They surrounded Bianca Belair in the ring, but Becky Lynch turned babyface and stood beside The EST as the heel group retreated.

The faction added Kairi Sane and Asuka to the group in 2023, but Bayley was seemingly unaware they would be joining. The Role Model was the leader of Damage CTRL but took a backseat after Iyo Sky captured the WWE Women's Championship at SummerSlam 2023.

Bayley is scheduled to battle Bianca Belair in a singles match tonight. Both superstars have already declared for the Women's Royal Rumble match, and Belair has gotten the better of Bayley during their rivalry so far.

Belair initially won the WWE Women's Championship at SummerSlam 2023 by defeating Charlotte Flair and Asuka in a Triple Threat match, but her title reign was short-lived. Iyo Sky immediately cashed in her Money in the Bank contract after the match to become the new champion.

Bianca Belair has never been a heel on the main roster and could make a shocking decision tonight on SmackDown. She could defeat Bayley and then be revealed as the newest member of Damage CTRL. It would generate some buzz for Belair heading into the Royal Rumble, and would also provide a path for Bayley to become a babyface once again on WWE television.

WWE star Bianca Belair reveals Damage CTRL's Bayley brings out the best in her

Former champion Bianca Belair broke character to reveal that Bayley brings out the best in her as a WWE Superstar.

In a 2022 interview with Sports Illustrated, the 2021 Women's Royal Rumble winner praised Bayley. She noted that her rival had taught her a lot and added that the veteran was a true leader in the locker room.

“She pushes me, she brings the best out of me. Being able to work with her, she’s taught me so much. Look at what she’s doing now—she’s a true leader. As annoying as Damage CTRL has been, you have to respect the way she fought to bring IYO and Dakota with her. Her passion and dedication are amazing, and she’s going to have her WrestleMania moment," said Belair. [H/T: Sports Illustrated]
