Elias may be set to feud with a legend!

WWE was in Toronto, Canada this week and as usual, the raucous Canadian crowd invested throughout the shows which just made Raw and SmackDown Live seem even better than they were.

On Raw, we saw a returning Trish Stratus much to the delight of the WWE Universe when she interrupted Elias during his performance. We saw Braun Strowman make an alliance of sorts and seemingly turning heel; Kevin Owens, in a shocking move, seemingly 'quit' Raw and more. The Hell in a Cell match card has begun to take shape as well.

Over on the blue brand, we saw the continuation of the Jeff Hardy-Randy Orton saga, while Samoa Joe kept up his heelish antics by involving AJ Styles' family in the storyline as he called and spoke to Styles' over the phone.

Also, the Rusev - Aiden English - Lana storyline continued as well, with no significant development. The USP of the show, however, was the impromptu match-up between Cien Almas and Daniel Bryan as the two men tore the house down with an excellent match.

With an eventful week behind us, let us look at all the top rumours in the world of WWE this week.

#5 Next plan for Kevin Owens

"I quit"

After a losing effort against Seth Rollins, a frustrated Kevin Owens sat in the middle of the ring with a microphone in hand and just said two words, 'I Quit' before walking out of the arena. The WWE Universe has been speculating all week about what is next for Owens and it looks like we might have an answer.

According to Barnburner's Fired Up Podcast, WWE have big plans ahead for Owens as he could return as Paul Heyman's next client. While an association with Heyman is certainly an elevation for any WWE Superstar, maybe Owens isn't the best choice for Heyman.

The Prizefighter is one of best talkers in WWE today and can more than hold his own on the microphone, so having an advocate might be unnecessary. Others like Ronda Rousey, who is very green on the mic, might benefit more from having a manager. Either way, the fans are left wondering what WWE has in store for Owens next.

#4 SummerSlam was supposed to end differently for Samoa Joe

The next WWE Champion?
The next WWE Champion?

AJ Styles and Samoa Joe faced each other for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam after a deeply personal rivalry. Styles' wife and daughter were present at ringside as well, and after Joe took things too far, Styles lost his cool and attacked Joe with a chair.

Joe won the bout via disqualification and their rivalry is set to continue. The two will face off next at the Hell in a Cell PPV.

However, initial plans for Joe were quite different as reports emerged last week that the Samoan was set to walk out of SummerSlam with the Championship! WWE seems to have changed plans at the last minute, perhaps to continue with the feud till HIAC. It remains to be seen who will walk away the next time they meet in the ring.

In a shocking move last week on Raw, Braun Strowman announced that he would be cashing in his MITB contract at Hell in a Cell against Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.

Now a possible spoiler regarding who is supposed to win at HIAC has emerged. Reportedly, Braun Strowman is set to lose his match at the PPV as WWE plans to keep the title on The Big Dog for quite a long period of time.

Also, it is being speculated that Drew McIntyre might challenge Reigns next after he retains at SummerSlam.

#1 Plans for The Rock

Returning soon?

The most exciting rumour doing the rounds since a couple of weeks has been The Rock's imminent return to the squared circle. The People's Champion is reportedly ready to return and he will do so sooner rather than later and in the main event scene no less. The

THe Rock is also shockingly the current favourite for the 2019 Royal Rumble! While that might not really materialize, it does look like he will return in a big way. With Elias throwing out a number of challenges, it looks like he will soon be interrupted during a performance by none other than The Great One!
