Pakistan will visit Sri Lanka to play an ICC World Test Championship series this month. The two Asian teams suffered defeats against Australia in their previous Test series and will be keen to return to winning ways.

Pakistan are alive in the race to the ICC World Test Championship 2023 Final. If they win both matches against the Sri Lankan cricket team, they will boost their chances of a Top 2 finish on the points table. Sri Lanka does not have much of a chance, but they can spoil Pakistan’s party.
History
Bilateral cricket matches saw a dip in interest from the fans due to the growing popularity of T20 leagues. So, ICC introduced the ICC World Test Championship, where nine teams play six series in the space of two years, with the top two nations progressing to the final.
The upcoming series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is a part of the same tournament. Sri Lanka will host the series from July 16 to July 28.
SL vs PAK 2022 Format
The Sri Lanka vs Pakistan series will follow the ICC World Test Championship rules. A team will earn 12 points for winning a game, while if the game ends in a tie, both teams will share six points. In case of a draw, the two teams will take four points home, while a defeat will not give any points to the losing team.
SL vs PAK 2022 Venues
Two venues will host the series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The first Test of the series will begin on July 16 at the Galle International Stadium, while the second game will start on July 24 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Sony Pictures Sports Network has secured the rights to telecast and live stream all home matches of the Sri Lankan cricket team in India. The series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan will be live on Sony Sports Channels in India. Live streaming will be available on Sony LIV website and application.
