The 2023 Western Conference Champions Denver Nuggets is one of the deepest teams in the league. They have megastar players like Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray and also a very complementary supporting cast. These star players also make contributions to the team’s success. One such megastar is Aaron Gordon, who transformed the team into a championship contender over the past few years.

The 27-year-old star is widely recognized for his incredible athleticism. He impressed many fans in All-Star Slam Dunk contests with his over-the-moon dunks and creativity. But the Arizona player is also very versatile on the court. He plays at the forward position in the Denver Nuggets team and can shoot from long range too.

Selected as the 4th overall pick by Orlando Magic, Gordon has developed into a superstar caliber player. He was a franchise player for the Magic and moved to the Denver Nuggets team in the 2021 mid-season in search of a championship. He is an integral part of the Nuggets success and is their number three go to option on the offense.

Aaron Gordon average minutes per game

Aaron Gordon averaged around 35.8 minutes per game. With the likes of KCP, Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. in the team, ranking third in usage certainly speaks volumes for Gordan’s impact on the floor. In the 2023 playoffs, Gordon was averaging 35.8 minutes of the game – that is nearly three-quarters of the game, while in the 2023 regular season, Aaron clocked just above the 30 min mark for the Nuggets.

California-born Gordon quickly made a name for himself with his high-flying dunks and impressive all-around skills. Gordon played in 4 postseasons in his career but he has been a very impactful star for his teams.

Aaron Gordon Basketball Journey

Gordon's basketball journey began with the Varsity basketball team, where he won Division II state championships in his sophomore and Junior year. Gordon showcased his exceptional talent and athleticism and was widely regarded as one of the top high school basketball players in the nation.

Gordon then committed to the University of Arizona, where he played college basketball for one season. His development into a complete player helped him earn an early NBA call as he declared for the 2014 NBA Draft.

Selected by the Orlando Magic as the fourth overall pick, Gordon announced himself with his athletic abilities and flashy moves. The player quickly became a fan favorite for his explosive leaping ability and his ability to play multiple positions.

Apart from his “rim dominance”, Gordon expanded his shooting range and became a reliable three-point shooter. Furthermore, his playmaking abilities also helped him to create opportunities for his teammates.

Defensively also Gordon contributed massively for his team. He led the team to the 2019 NBA playoffs but could not overcome the 1st round matchup. His combination of size, strength, and quickness made him an attractive prospect for most of the teams in the league and he was traded to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for multiple players and 1st round picks.

After joining forces with Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic, Gordon’s efficiency improved drastically. He is now able to impact the games in a more authoritative manner. Though his scoring average remained the same, Gordon managed to have more productive performances on both ends of the floor. His dream of becoming an NBA Champion finally came true as the Nuggets won the 2023 NBA Championship by defeating the Miami Heat in 5 games.
