Jamal Murray is a professional basketball player playing as a point guard for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA, as of 2024. Born on February 23, 1997, and hailing from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, Murray started playing basketball at the age of six. Murray's journey to a basketball career began in high school. He teamed up with fellow prospect Thon Maker at Orangeville Prep to victory against many American schools. This led him to his next step at the University of Kentucky, where he won the SEC tournament and averaged 20 points per game on 45.4 field goal percentage and 40.8 three-point shooting, as per Sports Reference.

Eventually, Jamal Murray was selected seventh overall in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets where he quickly established a formidable partnership with Nikola Jokic. Murray suffered a season-ending ACL injury in 2021, which caused him to miss the 2020-21 playoffs and the 2021-22 season. However, after returning to the court after missing 18 months, Murray and Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets to the franchise's first NBA Championship in 2023. Throughout the 2023 playoffs, Murray averaged 26.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game, as per Basketball Reference.
