Shaedon Sharpe, a shooting guard for the Portland Trail Blazers, was born on May 30, 2003. He was drafted by the Trail Blazers in the 2022 NBA Draft as the seventh overall pick. The Canadian went to H. B. Beal Secondary School, then spent his sophomore year at Sunrise Christian Academy, Kansas and his junior year at Dream City Christian School, Arizona. As a five-star recruit, he opted for the Kentucky Wildcats but later declared for the 2022 NBA Draft.

At the beginning of 2024, Sharpe had to undergo abdominal surgery, and two months later, in April, he announced that he would miss the rest of the year. However, he was cleared for training camp in September. In two seasons with the Trail Blazers, Sharpe has played in 112 games, starting 40 and averaging 11.6 points, 1.7 assists and 3.5 rebounds.

Prior to being reclassified, Sharpe was the 2022 class' consensus top player and a five-star recruit overall. He won the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League in 2021 and later declined offers from Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and the NBA G League Ignite in favor of playing college basketball for Kentucky. He was the program's first top recruit to commit since Nerlens Noel in 2012. However, he did not attend college and declared for the 2022 NBA Draft.
