How Tall Is Dak Prescott?

As the starting quarterback for America’s team, i.e. the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott has turned into an excellent leader on and off the field. He has a massive fan following which he has achieved by his stellar play in the game. Prescott was selected by the Cowboys in 2016 and has been playing for the same franchise for the past seven years now. Initially brought in as a backup to Tony Romo, the two-time Pro Bowler was immediately thrown under the spotlight due to Romo’s preseason injury in Prescott’s rookie year.

As his rookie season got underway, Dak slowly but steadily made progress throughout the year, eventually leading his team to the NFC East title with an impressive 13-3 record. In spite of a good performance by Prescott, the Cowboys lost in the Divisional round to the Green Bay Packers, but Dak had had a wonderful start to his professional career. He won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, made the PFWA All-Rookie Team, and earned a Pro Bowl selection.

With the start that Prescott had given to the Cowboys in his first season, it was expected that he would lead the team far into the postseason and on a consistent basis. However, inconsistency has been one of his main drawbacks as the Cowboys missed the playoffs in three of their next six seasons with Dak Prescott. Moreover, he has also had his fair share of issues with turnovers as he has led the league in interceptions thrown in 2022, and fumbles on two separate occasions.

The Cowboys’ starter stands at a height of 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 m). As per the NFL standards, he is about the average height for a quarterback. There have been few signal callers who are shorter than him and have found success in the league, however, most of the dominant ones have been 6 feet 2 inches or taller.

Generally, a taller quarterback provides an advantage as he gets a nice view of the field ahead of him and can also see above the linesman easily as they can also be quite tall themselves.

Dak Prescott Weight

When he first entered the league, Dak weighed around 238 lbs (108 kg). At present his weight is somewhere near 230 lbs. If you consider his weight with respect to the other quarterbacks in the league then he is a tad over the average. Although his weight hasn’t decreased a whole lot, Dak has shed his baby fat and gotten leaner in the process before the 2022 season started.

Dak Prescott Mobility

With his height and weight being more or less average for the NFL, Prescott has the capacity to be a mobile quarterback. Till now in games, he has shown to a certain extent his mobility if and when required and has displayed the ability to break a few tackles.

His passing accuracy is still the number one aspect of his game and at times, he is more reluctant to scramble around and look to pick up some yards on the ground. It is one area of the game where he can improve further to keep the defense on their toes.
