Dak Prescott

The 2022 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award winner, Dak Prescott, began his football journey in Haughton High School. The Louisiana native, Dak, was born to Nathaniel and Peggy Prescott. Rated as a three-star recruit, he continued his college football career at Mississippi State University, turning down offers from other universities, including Louisiana Tech, LSU, Memphis, and TCU, among others. Throughout his college years, he was a celebrated football player, boasting an extensive list of college records and honors.

The NFL is renowned for producing star players, and Prescott is no exception, having secured two Pro Bowl selections and set numerous quarterback franchise records in the league. After concluding his collegiate career in 2015, Prescott entered the 2016 NFL Draft and was selected by the Dallas Cowboys as the 135th overall pick in the fourth round. In his eight overall seasons, he has played in 114 games, starting all with a record of 73-41, completed 2,595 passes, 3,873 carries for 29,459 passing yards and 202 touchdowns. He also recorded 407 carries for 1,884 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns. Further, he also has 235 sacks and 56 forced fumbles.

Some notable tattoos include a Leo symbol, a sailboat, ‘Fight Finish’, his brother’s name, his own name, star and flames, ‘Pride and Lion’, ‘beyond blessed’, ‘135’, and a ‘Mom’ tattoo, among many others. He recently got a matching tattoo with her brother Tad Prescott, a tribute to their late mother on her birthday in the form of a Virgo constellation.

Why does Dak Prescott have a Louisiana Tattoo?

How Long was Dak Prescott Under Anaesthesia For His Tattoo?

In early 2023, Prescott added a massive, almost full-leg tattoo to his list. The tattoo sleeve includes references to his family, featuring a moose symbolizing his late brother, Jace, a Pegasus that represents his late mother, Peggy, and a Duffy Duck performing Prescott’s signature touchdown celebration, accompanied by numerous other components depicting other important aspects of his life.

For this tattoo, Prescott was sedated for almost half a day, it took nearly 11 hours for the tattoo to be completed. After the news surfaced about the sedation, Prescott did not receive positive feedback from the public, as he was called out for using anesthesia during the procedure, and some were dumbfounded by the use of sedation. Despite all the mixed reactions he has received, the tattoos on his body hold significant meaning, as they are in the memory of his mother and brother and hold significance in his life, making them special for the Cowboys quarterback.
