One of the most important aspects of professional wrestling in the '70s and '80s was the element of kayfabe. WWE Superstars and wrestlers from various other organizations always made sure to keep kayfabe alive and never break character in the ring or elsewhere in front of fans. With the passage of time, as more and more people began to realize that wrestling is scripted, kayfabe died a slow death.

Today, every WWE event is documented by the company itself, as well as the fans who have high-end mobile phones to capture the in-ring action. This makes it much easier to capture those rare moments when a WWE Superstar breaks character: be it on TV, an interview, or a live event. In the following list, we will take a look at five such instances where WWE Superstars were seen breaking character.

#5 The Undertaker goes crazy at a live event

Back when The Legacy was running riot over the WWE roster, two WWE veterans joined forces to take down the collective might of Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase Jr. At a WWE live event in Vienna, Austria, The Undertaker and Triple H took on The Legacy in a 3-on-2 Handicap match.

At one point during the match, The Undertaker went bonkers and started running from one corner of the ring to the other, and vice versa. He also took a water bottle and poured some water over himself, in a hilarious visual that garnered a big pop from the live audience.

The Undertaker is one of the most intimidating characters in WWE history, and watching him do funny antics like these must have been quite a surreal experience for the fans in attendance that night. The Deadman rarely broke character during his stint as an active wrestler, and it makes this clip that much more special.

#4 R-Truth makes Shayna Baszler corpse on RAW Talk

R-Truth has made the likes of Brock Lesnar laugh inside the WWE ring, but fans of Shayna Baszler never imagined in their wildest dreams that he would be capable of making someone like her break character and corpse.

The interview saw Shayna Baszler bashing RAW and adding that the catering isn't all that good on the red show. Truth clearly didn't agree with Baszler and chimed in, stating that the fried fish was good. Baszler nodded her head in disagreement, which led to Truth stating that she probably must not have put tartar sauce on her fish chips. This was enough to make Baszler laugh, who quickly slid her head down to make sure that the WWE Universe wouldn't see her corpsing at Truth's joke.

Fans noticed the hilarious visual though, and many took to Twitter to acknowledge the same. Truth is one of the most hilarious Superstars in all of WWE. His antics with the 24/7 title led to WWE garnering some large numbers on Youtube last year. Judging by the above clip, it seems like he hasn't lost his touch one bit.

#3 Triple H consoles a kid sitting at ringside

In early 2015, The Authority was running rampant on some of WWE's top babyfaces, especially John Cena and Roman Reigns. On an episode of RAW, Triple H sat at ringside, and was being heckled by a fan named Lucian Deering, who was sitting in the front row. The Game remained in character and told the 8-year-kid to stop messing with him.

As soon as Triple H told off the kid, he began crying. This prompted Triple H to approach the kid and console him, breaking character in the process. Here's what Triple H told the kid:

I immediately broke out of character and went over to him and put my head to his and I messed his hair up and I just said, ‘Hey buddy, it’s OK, we’re just playing around.

The kid was in for another surprise, as Triple H later invited him backstage. It was certainly a night that the kid won't be forgetting for a long time. Triple H has always excelled in playing a villain on WWE TV, and it was refreshing to see him go out of his way to make sure that a member of the WWE Universe felt safe on his show.

#2 Brock Lesnar does his bit to make sure Drew McIntyre gets over with the crowd

On the road to WWE WrestleMania 36, Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre collided on various occasions. The Scottish Psychopath had eliminated Lesnar from the Royal Rumble match earlier this year, and Lesnar hadn't forgotten that embarrassing moment.

On an episode of WWE RAW, Lesnar and McIntyre went at it in the ring, but it seemed like McIntyre's strength was too much for even someone like Lesnar. He hit Lesnar with several Claymore Kicks, in the ring as well as on the ramp.

After putting Lesnar down on the ramp, McIntyre forgot the script in excitement, and Lesnar took it upon himself to remind him of the same. In this clip, you can hear Lesnar telling McIntyre to lift the WWE title. McIntyre immediately followed Lesnar's command and picked up the title to pose for the crowd. At WrestleMania, McIntyre defeated Lesnar for the WWE title. He has praised Lesnar on several occasions for helping him get over during their feud.

#1 Randy Orton tells Shane McMahon's kids that their dad is fine

At WWE Survivor Series 2016, Randy Orton was a part of Team SmackDown that defeated Team RAW in a 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series match. At one point in the match, Shane McMahon prepared to hit Roman Reigns with a Coast to Coast, but was met with a devastating Spear while executing the move.

The official soon declared that Shane needed medical assistance, and he was eliminated from the match as a result. While the paramedics were taking Shane away, many fans noticed that Randy Orton approached Shane's son and wife and consoled them in one of the most wholesome moments in WWE history.

Although Shane couldn't do much for his team due to being taken out of the match following the thunderous Spear, Team SmackDown eventually won the match and Orton had a lot to do with the victory. The final moments of the bout saw Orton sacrificing himself and taking a Spear from Reigns, which was meant for Bray Wyatt. This gave Wyatt enough time to hit Reigns with a Sister Abigail and win the match for his team.
