#1 Why Brock Lesnar suspected that WWE was 'screwing' him
Brock Lesnar faced Goldberg at WWE WrestleMania 20, and it was a forgettable affair. It appears that there was also a lot of tension surrounding the backstage area as Lesnar felt that he was being ‘screwed’ by the company. Jim Ross recently revealed that both Lesnar and Goldberg received $250,000 for the match. However, The Beast Incarnate was adamant about clearing a few things up with the higher-ups in WWE. Ross said:
"I remember sitting in my office in Stamford, and Vince's assistant said, 'Brock Lesnar is on the line; he wanted to talk to Vince, and Vince wants him to talk to you.'"I said, 'What are you basing this on? Did you do a forensic study on the finances of this event, or did one of your buddies tell you that you got screwed on your payoff?”
“What are you basing this on? You've got to give me something here.' You didn't like it? And he said, 'I just think you guys screwed me. I said, 'well, we didn't screw you, and I'm sorry you feel that way.' And he hung up on me."
Soon after this incident, Lesnar left WWE to look for new challenges in life. He returned to the company in 2012 and, he had experience in MMA fighting under his belt.
#2 Roman Reigns’ banned TV attire in WWE
WWE Superstar Roman Reigns wore six-inch Nike SFB Canvas shoes with white soles when he faced Braun Strowman at Fastlane 2017. He recently revealed how he enjoys competing in those shoes. The Tribal Chief then said that he wanted the soles to match the white strips on his vest. At the time, Reigns mostly used to dress in all black. Here’s what Reigns had to say:
“I pretty much matched up to my soles because I’ll wear different colors with the black. I had white on the vest and gloves and stuff, and they had a white trim on it. I matched it up [with white soles], and I thought it looked sweet! One person didn’t, and he’s a very important person, so…”
Reigns revealed that someone important in WWE was not a big fan of this look. He did not like Reigns’ idea to match the soles and the vest. Roman Reigns never competed in those shoes again, but he was happy that the sneakerheads noticed his shoes.
#3 Murphy accuses Aalyah Mysterio of using him in WWE
Last week on WWE SmackDown, we saw Murphy approach Seth Rollins and ask for a chance to rekindle their Messiah-Disciple relationship. He further commented on the subject and said that the Mysterio family used him. According to Murphy, Aalyah Mysterio used him to enhance her acting career, and Dominik Mysterio used him to be present at ringside. He also said that Rey Mysterio was jealous of Murphy becoming the WWE Cruiserweight division's new face.
"Let's point out the obvious! The Mysterio's used me! I never needed them! I'm beyond one of the most talent(ed) in-ring performers on the planet! Aalyah used me to be on tv and advance an acting career. Dominik used me, so he had a reason to stand ringside. Rey was jealous that I became the new face of the cruiserweight(s), and he was left out of the discussion. They took what they wanted; then they left me in the shadows! Sounds like my time in NXT."
It was surprising to see that Murphy was trying to join forces with Rollins once again on WWE SmackDown. His recent comments have confirmed that the relationship between him and the Mysterio family is not that great at the moment.
#4 WWE Chairman Vince McMahon’s reaction when Christian Cage got clearance for an in-ring return
Christian Cage returned to the ring in WWE earlier this year. During his recent appearance on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast, he revealed how Vince McMahon reacted to him getting clearance to wrestle again. Christian stated that McMahon was pleased about the news, and the two had a good conversation.
“I kind of floated it out there before that to Vince that I had been cleared. You know, he was very happy about it. We had a couple of good conversations about it. I said, ‘There’s still some work to do, but we’ll see where we get to at this point and kind of move forward from there.’"
Despite competing in the WWE Royal Rumble match earlier this year, Christian Cage decided to join AEW. He chose to hear the rival company’s offer after speaking with Jon Moxley. He liked AEW’s plans for him and signed with the promotion.
#5 Jim Ross explains how Brock Lesnar might have received a bad advice
Jim Ross recently discussed Brock Lesnar’s departure from WWE back in 2004. He believes that The Beast Incarnate was misguided by the locker room talks. The fact that he was also burnt out and needed a break from the wrestling business were the major factors behind Lesnar’s decision to leave WWE.
"Well, he was burned out. He was getting bad advice from some of his peers, I believe, and he had this dream of playing in the National Football League, and apparently, he had that dream for many, many years."
Brock Lesnar enjoyed a lot of success in WWE, and he quickly rose through the ranks. However, his monumental success also affected his schedule that became hectic, and drove Lesnar to overwork. As a result, he decided to take a break, and the reports suggest that he was not happy with WWE right before leaving. Fans are interested in knowing more about his current plans in WWE, especially concerning a potential match against Bobby Lashley.
#6 Eric Bischoff claims WWE legend Bret Hart was not a main-event draw
Former RAW GM Eric Bischoff recently stated that Bret Hart was not a ‘main-event draw’ in WWE. He also said that Bret Hart is the ‘least successful World Heavyweight Champion’ in WWE despite being the face of the company. Here’s what Bischoff had to say:
"His drawing power in the WWE was well documented by anyone who wants to do the research in an objective way. He was not a main-event draw in WWE. That’s it, that’s a fact, it’s not my fault, I wasn’t there, I didn’t book him – it just didn’t work. He was the champion, he was the face of the company, and he was the least successful World Heavyweight Champion or at least one of in WWE history – which is a long freakin’ history. It is what it is."
Both Bischoff and Bret Hart have had harsh words to say about each other in the past as they both seem to disagree a lot on topics related to WWE. Bischoff had even said that Bret Hart was boring to watch.
#7 The Undertaker reacts to a possible WWE match between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley
The newly crowned WWE Champion Bobby Lashley has been vocal about his wishes to face Brock Lesnar in a match. It is one of the most-anticipated bouts in WWE, and even The Undertaker believes that it will be a crowd puller. The Deadman revealed his thoughts on MVP’s latest social media post.
MVP had uploaded a picture of Lashley and Lesnar face to face. The Undertaker reacted with several ‘flying money’ emojis to assert that this match would allow WWE to sell many tickets. A lot of fans want Lesnar to face Lashley, especially after the latter finally became the WWE Champion. However, there have been no reports about Lesnar’s potential return to WWE ahead of WrestleMania.
#8 Goldberg sees himself in current WWE Superstar
Earlier this year, former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre successfully defended his title against Goldberg at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The latter talked about the challenges he had to face ahead of locking horns with McIntyre in his documentary. Goldberg further stated that going up against McIntyre made him feel like he was preparing to face his younger self. Here’s what Goldberg had to say:
"The problem I have is the time constraint. I think physically, even though I'm at an accelerated age, I think I'm still there. I'm not called upon to be some shmuck who's easily run over, you know. After Goldberg, McIntyre defended his WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber. However, his celebration was cut short after The Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and used Lashley’s help to win the title. The Miz would then lose his WWE Championship to Lashley on WWE RAW.
#9 WWE Champion Bobby Lashley on how the Hurt Business got its name
Bobby Lashley recently revealed how the popular WWE stable Hurt Business got its name. The WWE Champion told that his boxing coach first used the name, and it always stuck with Lashley. He always wanted to have a group of trusted allies in WWE and knew that he would call his entourage. Here’s what Lashley had to say:
"It was me. I was thinking about this before; I was thinking about the whole thing before. Originally, a boxing coach that I had down in Coconut Creek at American Top Team. He used to always wear this T-shirt, and I was like, man, that is incredible man, that needs to be in WWE because that’s my character. I just need a group. So I just loved it forever. And this was several years back, several, several years back, and I held onto it. And when we came, I was still holding onto it. And I was like, man, I wanted to do something like that, but I need the right people involved."
After winning the WWE Championship, Lashley has capitalized on the right opportunities to make himself look like a dominant champion. He is doing great on WWE RAW and will now look forward to his next challenger on the Red brand.
#10 Keith Lee sends message for WWE fans
WWE RAW Superstar Keith Lee has been missing from the television for quite some time. Lee was scheduled to compete in the United States Championship match at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, but he was pulled out of the match. Lee recently took to his social media account to tell the fans that he misses them. However, Lee did not share any update on his WWE return.
There have been no concrete reports about the reason behind Lee’s absence from WWE. Before he went on a hiatus, a few backstage reports suggested that Lee’s partner Reckoning, aka Mia Yim, had tested positive for COVID-19. Nonetheless, Lee is expected to come back on WWE’s Red brand soon and focus all his attention on the United States Championship that Riddle currently holds.
