Vince McMahon is not just the Chairman of WWE, but the heart and soul of the organization. While you may or may not agree with many of the decisions that he takes, there is no denying that Vince McMahon puts in all his efforts to make WWE better. The Chairman has taken a bold step towards the future of the PPVs which we will talk about today.

Some fans had always complained about the lengthy runtimes of WWE PPVs, especially the big four - WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, and Survivor Series. Hence, the new changes to the PPVs will be welcome.

We'll also take a look at Sting's future with WWE, a top Superstar contemplating retirement, and more!

#5 Sting may be done with WWE

Former WCW World Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Sting may be done with the company if reports are to be believed. ProWrestling Sheet's Ryan Satin had stated that Sting is no longer under contract with WWE.

To further add fuel to the fire, Major Wrestling Figure podcast stated that they will not be producing Sting's action figures:

Due to circumstances out of our control Sting needed to be removed from Legends Series 7. We’ll look to include this figure in a future wave if he becomes available to us again.

There also been some speculation that the 61-year-old Sting could be AEW bound. Sting has had only a handful of matches since making his debut in WWE and had to retire due to injury curtailing his plans for an in-ring return.

#4 Vince McMahon's backstage reaction to Becky Lynch's pregnancy news

Becky Lynch revealed on RAW this week that she is pregnant. Not just that, she also handed over the RAW Women's Championship to the MITB contract holder Asuka.

The Man Becky Lynch has been dating fellow WWE Superstar Seth Rollins for a long time and the two are engaged to each other.

Though there was speculation that Vince McMahon may be upset with Becky Lynch for her decision to relinquish the RAW Women's Championship, that is not the case. As per WrestleTalk, McMahon is, in fact, very happy for both Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins.

WrestleTalk's Oli Davis stated that according to sources, Vince McMahon is not angry at Lynch one bit, and is fully supporting her decision to start a family with Seth Rollins. Everyone else in the company shares Vince's sentiments as well, and are very happy for WWE's power couple. (H/T: SportsKeeda)

With The Man gone from RAW, it will be interesting to see who takes the top spot in the women's division.

#3 The Undertaker reveals his retirement plans

The Undertaker was last seen in action during his Boneyard match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36. The match received high praise from fans and critics and The Undertaker's performance was especially lauded.

However, while some fans believed Undertaker riding off on his bike at the end was symbolic of his retirement, that is not the case. In fact, some reports have suggested that WWE has more plans for The Undertaker.

While speaking to People.com, The Phenom revealed how he would like to eventually retire when the time comes.

The Undertaker said that he wanted a John Elway ending. John Elway won multiple SuperBowls and then retired. So, The Deadman too wants to retire with a bang.

But I kind of want the John Elway ending, you know? The John Elway ending, when he went out and he won a couple of Super Bowls and then retired. Or Peyton Manning, he wins the Super Bowl, then retired.

He further added:

When I’m looking at it, I want that match, that match when it’s just like, ‘Oh yeah. Bam. I still got it. I got gas in the tank, I tore it down. Now walk away.

#2 WWE to have shorter PPVs

youtube-cover

Reportedly, Vince McMahon was the reason behind MITB being such a short show. The PPV lasted less than 2 hours 30 minutes, making it the shortest WWE main roster PPV from the United States in over two decades. It was The Chairman who wanted the show to be short, and Vince McMahon reportedly wants all PPVs with no audiences to be short and concise.

As compared to earlier PPV's which had live audiences and mostly lasted over 3-4 hours, these new shorter PPVs will be a welcome change.

WrestlingNews.co had reported that Vince McMahon wanted Money in the Bank to be a shorter show. This is why we only saw very few matches on the card with Drew McIntyre vs Seth Rollins and the two MITB matches taking up most of the show's runtime.

Cageside Seats have stated:

He (Vince McMahon) apparently wants to keep PPV runtimes down while they’re running without fans.

It also makes sense as without an audience, most matches will seem dragged and the audience at home may lose interest. It is certainly an interesting decision by Vince McMahon and it will be intriguing to see how long the next WWE PPV - Backlash - will be.

#1 Injury update on Rey Mysterio

youtube-cover

This week on Monday Night RAW, Seth Rollins brutally assaulted Rey Mysterio, shoving his eye into the corner of the steel steps.

This week hasn't been very good for the WWE veteran Rey Mysterio, who was first thrown off the WWE HQ rooftop during the MITB match and was later brutally injured by The Messiah on the RAW after MITB.

WWE has issued a statement regarding Rey Mysterio's injury condition:

Rey Mysterio’s injury status is still listed as critical. Doctors cannot properly assess the damage to his retina until the swelling subsides, as Rey is currently at-risk for infection. Mysterio suffered an eye injury when Seth Rollins grinded his face into the corner of the steel ring steps.

Seth Rollins faced Drew McIntyre at MITB in a WWE Championship match but was unable to defeat the Scottish Psycopath to win the WWE Championship.

The Monday Night Messiah will likely be in a program with Rey Mysterio, once the Master of 619 is healed up and ready to make a comeback. Meanwhile, The Architect will continue to run roughshod on RAW.
