Top 5 WWE Superstars who should not win at Royal Rumble 2014

John Cena

The Royal Rumble is arguably the biggest stage in WWE where the bookers can give a particular individual the push of his life. And they rarely hesitate to do the same, from Rey Mysterio to Shawn Michaels; every superstar who stepped into the battle royal and won it has reaped the benefits of this advantage.

This time also there won’t be any differences as the creative team will be looking to book the biggest spectacle after WrestleMania in style. There are a lot of speculations going around the potential winners and gainers from the match, while many of the favorites in that list deserves to make it into the WrestleMania main event, there are some who shouldn’t be given the Rumble push for various reasons.

So here is a look at the top five wrestlers who falls into the second category which has the headline: he shouldn’t win the Royal Rumble.

Honorable Mentions- The Miz, Bray Wyatt, Ryback.

5- Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns

It’s one of the wildest rumors out there that Reigns could walk through 29 other men and get a guaranteed spot at WrestleMania main event. And with his recent heroics, no one can blame the ones who believe this way.

But the fact is, it would be suicidal to give Reigns the big push since he is only developing as a big star. From the outside, a turn against his tag team partners for a win would sound good on paper. However, the big Samoan headlining WrestleMania wouldn’t be big enough to be precise.

Giving such a quick push instead of building him slowly would also hurt his career and Reigns could end up easily as the next Miz or Dolph Ziggler instead of being the Rock or John Cena that he is backed to be.

4- The Big Show

Big Show

Big Show

Okay the chances of Big Show entering the Rumble itself are slim as the giant will be pitted up against the Beast at the Rumble in a match that he ain’t going to win for sure. But the twist would come if the WWE decides to throw in Show into the Rumble once he will be left with no feud after the Lesnar match.

And to make things worse, the WWE could also decide to give him another shot at the title like his “high profile” feud at Survivor Series.

Show might be a veteran when it comes to the wrestling business, but he is still miles away from being able to main event WrestleMania or attract heat for being in a feud. The best thing that the WWE could do to Show after his Lesnar match would be give him some time off and make him return near WrestleMania as a heel rather than giving him another big push.

3- John Cena

John Cena

John Cena

It’s evident that the fans are tired of Cena winning each and every match he heads into and the Royal Rumble is no different.

There is no need for Cena to show that he deserves to be in the WrestleMania main event because he could walk into it even if he doesn’t compete in the Rumble. Such a star of his quality doesn’t need any sort of push for the purpose.

The repetition could also feel stale for the fans as they are done seeing Cena win the Royal Rumble and making the other wrestlers look like idiots. Clearly the WWE should start booking Cena more intelligently or even turn him heel if they have to please everyone expect the ten year olds.

2- Batista

Batista

Batista

He might be making his return after a long hiatus, but being a big star he is he doesn’t need the Royal Rumble to make it to WrestleMania.

There are superstars in the roster who has been busting their rear for almost a year and out of nowhere and winning the match would not only be unfair but it wouldn’t be a good decision to gel in with the storylines also.

The returning Batista could be wasted in a title feud since his stay won’t last forever. Something like what the Rock did wouldn’t click this time also as Batista is not as big as Dwayne Johnson. Throwing in Batista against the lights of Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar or Undertaker would be more interesting than Batista winning the Rumble and thus earning a WrestleMania spot.

1- Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio

There is only a slim chance of Del Rio winning the Rumble but that slim chance is the worst case scenario. His taunts of Batista in the recent weeks might be working as the momentum build for Del Rio which opens the slight door for a potential win.

Ever after he lost the championship to Cena, Del Rio was taking a big fall which ended up in his concussion, he then returned gaining some momentum but all those ain’t going to be the launching pad for Del Rio if the WWE is planning to make him win.

Del Rio previously won the biggest Rumble in the history but went on to lose his match at WrestleMania. The Mexican has also been around the title scene for so long now and all these factors make him the worst choice to win the Rumble.
