#5 Shakib Al Hasan

One of Bangladesh's senior most players, Shakib Al Hasan has been exemplary with the bat in the World Cup so far. Shakib has showed why he is the number one ranked all-rounder in the World. The former Bangladesh skipper played a crucial knock in his team's remarkable victory against South Africa.

He then made 64 runs against New Zealand before scoring a scintillating century against England. Even though both the innings went in vain as Bangladesh lost both the matches, Shakib kept Bangladesh in the game till he was at the crease. The left-hand batsman is currently the leading run-scorer with 260 runs. The team management should also be credited for Shakib's superlative performance as they provided him the opportunity to bat at number 3. Shakib is going to be important for Bangladesh's chances in the tournament.

#4 David Warner

World Cup 2019 was always going to be a huge tournament for David Warner. Warner, who was playing in Australian colors after 14 months, has a lot to prove, both as a player and batsman. And even though Warner had struck form in the IPL, performing in international cricket is a different scenario altogether.

The opener started cautiously in the team's opening game as he scored an unbeaten 89 off 114 balls. After getting out early against West Indies, all eyes were on Warner in the important game against India. The Southpaw scored a sluggish 56 at a strike-rate of 66.66 when his team needed to score at more than 7 runs per over. He was heavily criticised for his innings as Australia plummeted to a defeat. However, Warner struck a century against Pakistan proving his importance at the top of the order for Australia once again.

#3 Virat Kohli

With more than ten thousand ODIs runs at an average nearing 60 and 41 ODI centuries, Virat Kohli was always going to be a batsman to watch out for in World Cup 2019. Kohli has excelled in the ODI format all over the world. The Indian skipper likes the big stage and has his eyes set on the coveted World Cup trophy.

Unfortunately, Kohli did not have the perfect start to the tournament as he got out on 18 runs against South Africa. However, Kohli showed signs of coming back to form in the second game against Australia. The 30-year-old scored a fluent 82 off 77 balls that helped India reach a winning total of 352 runs. Even though Kohli is quite low in the list of highest run-scorers in the tournament at the moment, the Indian run-machine is known to score runs in heaps and it won't be a surprise if Kohli jumps the queue by scoring a couple of centuries on a trot.

#2 Joe Root

Joe Root is the glue that holds England's batting line-up, that is full of stroke-players, together. Root might not be the most aggressive batsman going around, but his old-fashioned ODI style of batting has been extremely effective for Team England. Root averages more than 50 in ODIs and provides calmness to England's middle-order. And even though he is not a big-hitter, Root is a brilliant reader of the game and has the ability to maneuver the field and keep the scoreboard ticking.

He has had a brilliant start to the World Cup too. Root has already scored 179 runs in three innings with one fifty and one hundred to his name. England is a batting heavy side and will play most of its matches on high scoring grounds which will make Root a strong contender to finish as the highest run-getter of World Cup 2019.

#1 Rohit Sharma

After years of doubts and comprehensions about his temperament as an international cricketer, Rohit Sharma seems to have done justice to his enormous talent in the last 4-5 years. Sharma has been outstanding for team India in the top order and has played some swashbuckling innings for team India.

Keeping in mind his ability to score big runs and annihilate bowling-attacks, Rohit was considered to be extremely important for India's World Cup ambitions. And Rohit hasn't disappointed. When the chips were down in the first game against South Africa, Rohit came up with an ace innings of 122 runs on a difficult batting track. Him, along with Shikhar Dhawan, layed a strong foundation for the team against Australia. Rohit scored 57 and stitched a partnership of 127 runs for the first wicket. Looking at the way he is batting at the moment, this could be Rohit's World Cup.
