Rayne Dakota Prescott is a professional American football player who plays as a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL, as of 2024. The Dallas Cowboys drafted Prescott with the 135th pick in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft. Prescott was selected to the Pro Bowl and won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award after an outstanding rookie season. Prescott had 3,324 passing yards, 13 interceptions, 22 passing touchdowns, 6 rushing touchdowns, and 357 running yards in 2017. Prescott was selected to his second Pro Bowl in 2018. He was ranked 46th by his teammates on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2020 list after the 2019 season. The Cowboys gave Prescott a franchise tag in 2020 but the following year, Prescott signed a four-year contract extension with the Cowboys. Prescott was selected as one of the 2023 NFL MVP finalists and won the 2022 NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year award.

Prescott attended Mississippi State University to play collegiate football. Prescott played in all 12 games in 2012 after missing his true freshman season due to injury. Prescott had 156 receptions for 1,940 yards, seven interceptions, and ten touchdowns the next season. He earned the Conerly Trophy and was a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm, Davey O'Brien, Maxwell, and Manning awards. He also finished in eighth place on the 2014 Heisman Trophy ballot. Prior to the 2015 season, the media named him to the First-team Preseason All-SEC, while Athlon Sports and Phil Steele named him to two Preseason All-American teams. In 2015, he was also selected as a candidate for National Player of the Year. Prescott went to Haughton High School before attending college.
