About NFL Week 3 Schedule
The NFL week 3 schedule again sees the full set of teams in action but we also will have for the first time this season two Monday Night Football (MNF) games. Teams would have a fairly better idea of what is working and what needs to improve with two full games already done and dusted ahead of the week 3.
As usual, the week 3 NFL schedule will provide us with some key games along the week. Some of the games which may be exciting to watch are those between the Houston Texans and the Minnesota Vikings as well as the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts. But, the most exciting games of the week are as follows:
Game on Thursday, September 19
New England Patriots at New York Jets
The New York Jets play their first of two TNF games against the New England Patriots in this week 3 matchup. This is a key game as both teams belong to the AFC East which also features the four-time reigning division winners Buffalo Bills and the highly talented Miami Dolphins. This is also the first time the Jets and Aaron Rodgers (provided he is healthy) will be facing a Patriots team without Bill Belichick calling the shots from the sideline.
Games on Sunday, September 22
Los Angeles Chargers at Pittsburgh Steelers
The Los Angeles Chargers will once again be on the road as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a battle between two quality American football coaches. Jim Harbaugh will lead his Chargers to face off against the Mike Tomlin led Steelers and although the Chargers may still be getting used to the new system implemented by Harbaugh, this game will be an interesting one.
On the field, Justin Herbert has got an improved O-line this year that should result in him getting more time to find his receivers. On the flip side, the Steelers are going through some tough competition at the quarterback position with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields giving their best shot each week.
San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams
The San Francisco 49ers week 3 NFL schedule lands them in Los Angeles to face their NFC West divisional opponents, the Rams. Brock Purdy and the 49ers will have to play a good game to come through with a win as the Matthew Stafford led Rams have gotten better over the offseason. This game is all the more important being a divisional game as tiebreakers can come in handy if required.
Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys
The NFL week 3 schedule has given us a thrilling contest to look forward to as the Baltimore Ravens travel westward to play the Dallas Cowboys at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Ravens who have most of their core players back from 2023 also have a major new presence in the backfield with the addition of running back Derrick Henry. This signing has made the running game very strong for the Ravens with both Lamar Jackson and Henry capable of producing effortless runs.
On the other hand, Dallas has also stepped up their game and have re-signed Ezekiel Elliott after a one-year separation. Key players such as CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, and Micah Parsons are back once again which means this should be an amazing contest.
Game on Monday, September 23
Jacksonville Jaguars at Buffalo Bills
The MNF in week 3 is a matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills. Both teams are coming into the season with their best wide receivers gone and are now looking to rebuild. The offense for the Jaguars runs through the 6 feet 5 inch Trevor Lawrence, a former number one overall draft pick in 2021 while the offense for the Bills rides on the back of Josh Allen.
Although this is not a divisional game, both teams will be facing pressure from their respective divisions so a win here is much needed.
