Last year’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers were one of the most fun teams to root for as they came out of nowhere with a castoff quarterback in Baker Mayfield under center. However, they will not have that surprise element anymore in the upcoming season.

They did well in the offseason by signing Baker and Mike Evans to an extension and keeping the team chemistry intact. The Bucs also made Antoine Winfield Jr. the highest paid safety in league history by signing him to a four-year, $84.1 million deal. But, the biggest loss they faced was in the form of offensive coordinator Dave Canales, who went on to become the head coach of their divisional rival Panthers.

The other challenge that Baker Mayfield and boys would face in 2024 is that their weak division has suddenly become strong. The Falcons who had the worst QB room in division last year signed Kirk Cousins. The Panthers added offensive weapons in FA and draft to help their second year signal caller along with pairing him with a young head coach. Lastly, there are Saints who can be never counted out no matter what the circumstances are around the team. However, according to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers schedule, they will not face any divisional opponents in September, which gives them time to gel.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Key Games 2024–25

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers football schedule revealed some interesting matchups for the 2024-25 season. They will be facing teams from AFC West and NFC East. All the divisional games are important, so we will focus on some other matchups that the Bucs need to target outside NFC South.

Week 1 - September 8, 2024 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Washington Commanders

The team starting a rookie QB and a new head coach would be always at a disadvantage in the opening week of the season. Commanders are just that team and the Bucs should be able to handle them at home.

Week 2 - September 15, 2024 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Detroit Lions

This 2023 divisional round rematch will be a revenge game for the Bucs. After going 0-2 against the Lions last year (including playoffs), Tampa Bay would be eager to even the score. Both teams have a high octane offense, which would result in a shootout.

Week 3 - September 22, 2024 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Denver Broncos

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers football schedule has them facing a second rookie quarterback in the first three weeks. This should make Todd Bowles salivate as he likes to send the house to make the quarterback uncomfortable. What better time than to do it against a QB starting his only third-ever pro game? The Bucs have a clear edge going into this game.

Week 4 - September 29, 2024 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Bucs can come out with a 3-1 record after playing the first quarter of the season if both teams play the same way like they did in the 2024 wildcard matchup. The Bucs thrashed the Eagles and defeated them by 23 points. However, the 2024 Eagles team has a bright new offensive coordinator in Kellen Moore and will not be an easy out like the last time they met.

Week 12 - November 24, 2024 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New York Giants

The Bucs have the better overall talent compared to the big blue. Giants are a middling team carried by their head coach. But the Giants play much better at home as evident by their home record last year compared to road one. However, due to being well rested and prepared coming from a BYE week, there is no chance of Tampa Bay getting caught off guard in this game.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play all their home games at Raymond James Stadium, in Tampa, Florida. They have called this stadium their home since 1998. They previously played in Tampa Stadium for two decades.
