Born on December 8, 1985, Dwight Howard II is an American basketball center who last played for the Taoyuan Leopards of the T1 League in China. He played a total of 18 seasons in the NBA, primarily with the Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Howard was born in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S., to parents Dwight Sr. and Sheryl Howard, Howard attended Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy and during his high school career, was felicitated with numerous awards, including the Naismith Prep Player of the Year Award, the Morgan Wootten High School Player of the Year Award, the Gatorade National Player of the Year, and the McDonald's National High School Player of the Year.

Howard entered the 2004 NBA draft having foregone college altogether. He was drafted by the Orlando Magic, who selected him first overall over UConn junior Emeka Okafor. He played eight seasons with them, even leading them to the NBA finals in 2009. He spent three separate stints at the Los Angeles Lakers, eventually winning the NBA finals with them in 2020. He also played for the Houston Rockets, the Atlanta Hawks, the Charlotte Hornets, the Washington Wizards, and the Philadelphia 76ers during his time in the NBA. He is also an eight-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA Team honoree, five-time All-Defensive Team member, and three-time Defensive Player of the Year. After 18 seasons in the NBA, he moved to the Taiwanese-based Leopards in 2022. He was named a T1 All-Star in just his first season with the team.

Internationally, Howard has represented the United States. He won the gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games. He started at center and averaged 10.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in the tournament.
