Naji Marshall is an American basketball player who plays as a small forward for the Dallas Mavericks. Born on January 24, 1998, Marshall’s name "Naji" means "strong warrior" in Arabic. It was a nickname given to him by his father, Maurice Marshall, who was a professional boxer and is now a basketball coach at an elementary school. Marshall played college basketball at Xavier University from 2017 to 2020. In his freshman year, he earned a spot on the Big East All-Freshman Team. He continued to excel in his sophomore year, as he was named to the Second-Team All-Big East in 2019. As a junior, Marshall was named to First-Team All-Big East as he averaged 16.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. During his three seasons at Xavier, Marshall scored a total of 1,277 points.

Despite his college success, Marshall went undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft but signed with the New Orleans Pelicans. His rookie season was a learning experience, as he played in only 32 games. In his second season, during 2021–22, he appeared in 55 games, showing steady improvement. Marshall had a breakout season in 2023–24 with the Pelicans, playing in 77 games, starting 21 of them, and averaging 23.3 minutes per game. He posted solid numbers, averaging 9.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. In the 2024 offseason, the Dallas Mavericks signed Marshall, where he quickly became a key part of their rotation. As of November 2024, he is averaging a career-high 12 points per game, continuing to make an impact for his new team.
