The Green Bay Packers enter the NFL Draft 2025 armed with eight selections. They have a pick in all seven rounds, with two selections in the last one. All eight picks are eligible to be traded. The Packers' success in the draft, compared to free agency, is well-known, and GM Brian Gutekunst is expected to continue this trend in his 27th draft for the team, his eighth as general manager (via the Green Bay Packers' official website).

In March 2025, the Green Bay side added guard Aaron Banks, cornerback Nate Hobbs, and wide receiver Mecole Hardman to their side. The additions allow a solid platform for the Packers to address their remaining concerns at the Draft. While GM Gutekunst's choice at No. 23 overall pick remains a tough guess, with the option of trading up and down open for him, his past first-round picks suggest an outlook for selecting players with elite athleticism, playing at premium positions, and coming from big schools (via the Packers Wire).

What are the Green Bay Packers' biggest needs in the 2025 NFL Draft?

The Packers had some notable losses this offseason. They saw the exit of center Josh Mayers, defensive tackle T.J. Staton, cornerback Eric Stokes, linebacker Eric Wilson, and running back AJ Dillon. These losses bring the focus of the side to cornerbacks, wide receivers, and defensive linemen.

#3 Defensive linemen

With the exit of multiple defensive linemen from the Packers' side, the team is looking for young talent to fill the requirement of the side. Shemar Stewart of Texas A&M is being looked at as a potential first-round pick for the Green Bay team. Being one of the most athletic edge rushers to ever compete at the combine, the 21-year-old is a brimming talent for the premium position. Jordan Burch of the Oregon Ducks is another edge rusher high on the Packers' list. His 4.67-second 40 time record at 279 pounds during the Combine reflects his agility. Derrick Harmon of Oregon is the first name from the DT list that could grab the Packers' attention. Arguably one of the best pass-rushing DTs in college football, Harmon is predicted to have the capability of being a future Kenny Clark replacement (via the Packers Wire).

#2 Wide receiver

The Green Bay Packers haven't picked a wide receiver in the first round since 2002. This draft year could be the perfect opportunity to break the norm. Tetairoa McMillan of the Arizona Wildcats is predicted to be an accurate fit for the Packers. However, with the Jordan Love-led side entering the draft at No. 23 overall, it is a high possibility that McMillan would have already found his NFL home by then. Next in line stands Emeka Egbuka of Ohio State for Green Bay. He has experience and athletic ability to play inside and out, along with having the capability of a strong blocker. Matthew Golden (Texas Longhorns) is another player in conversation for the Packers. Golden completed the 40-yard dash in 4.29 seconds, fastest of all the WRs. His speed and ability to reach the catch point provide him with an edge over multiple players, even though his injury history remains a concern for his potential team (via the Lead)

#1 Cornerback

Jaire Alexander has the conversation of trade surrounding him in the league. With his doubtful presence on the Packers' defense, cornerback remains a top priority position for the team. It is Jahdae Barron, the No. 2 cornerback of this draft class, that the Green and Gold could target on April 24. His ability to adjust to multiple roles like safety, nickel, and corner makes him an ideal choice for the Packers, along with his intelligence and game skills on the field (via Bleacher Report). Will Johnson from Ann Arbor is another prospect that the Packers could bring in for good depth to their defense. His control over speed and zone coverage makes him a crucial addition to any defensive side, along with his strategic use of his height.
