The Los Angeles Chargers will look to overcome the hurdles they faced in the 2024 season, as they were held to 17 points or fewer seven times, including the playoffs. This means that the 2025 NFL Draft target will be to strengthen the offensive line despite signing Najee Harris (RB) and Mike Williams (WR) earlier this offseason. Additionally, Jesse Minter will be looking to potentiate the defense on the interior and off the edge (via the NFL's official website).

The Bolts have the 22nd pick in the NFL draft in Round 1, with the total number of selections being 10 in the seven-round draft. Jim Harbaugh and Co. will try to put the right individuals around Justin Herbert, who showed his leadership skills in the 2024 season. This will allow the Chargers' QB with more reliable options to target and improve their playoff drought (via Yahoo Sports).

Who are the Los Angeles Chargers' biggest needs in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Despite a satisfactory first season as the head coach, Jim Harbaugh will look to take his team a step further in the game, as they haven't won a playoff game since 2018. This means that the team will look to gather as many options as possible in terms of the offense and the defense, particularly focusing on wide receivers, tight ends, edge rushers, and defensive tackles.

#4 Defensive Tackles

The Chargers lost Poona Ford, one of the promising defensive tackles, to the Los Angeles Rams in free agency. This space left by Ford needs to be filled as the Chargers will look to improve their depth chart. The possible option could be Kenneth Grant of Michigan. Grant has played under Jim Harbaugh, and this can prove to be an advantage for the player and the team (via the NY Times). Another possible selection could be Alfred Collins from the University of Texas as a second-round pick. He offers size and strength to the team.

#3 Wide Receivers

The addition of a wide receiver to the team will give an edge to Justin Herbert. According to Yahoo Sports, Matthew Golden is a reliable option. His 2024 season with the Longhorns was impressive, with 9 touchdowns for 987 receiving yards. Another possible pick for the Bolts can come in round three, overall 86, in the form of Tory Horton. If that is not possible, Jalen Royals from Utah State is also a good option with his agility and versatility (via the Los Angeles Chargers' official website).

#2 Edge Rushers

While the team has re-signed Khalil Mack and brought back Tuli Tuipulotu and Bud Dupree, they can still solidify the edge rusher position with another young player, such as Shemar Stewart from Texas A&M, James Pearce Jr. from Tennessee, and Landon Jackson from Arkansas. Even if this fourth edge rusher won't play a primary role as of now on the team, this addition will prove to be beneficial in the long run (via the Chargers' official website).

#1 Tight Ends

While wide receivers will help strengthen the passing game for the Los Angeles Chargers, a tight end at No. 22 would give the unit a long-term player at the position. Tyler Warren is one of the possible picks that could fill the team's biggest need. Matt Miller (via ESPN) ranks the Penn State alumnus as the seventh-best overall prospect. Meanwhile, Ringer has projected Colston Loveland for the Chargers. Not only will his good body control prove to be beneficial for the team, but his attention to game details will also add an edge to the offense. Miami's Elijah Arroyo can also add depth to the tight end chart for the Chargers with his explosive talent (via the Chargers' official website).
