The Denver Broncos, who reached the playoffs last season for the first time since Peyton Manning hung up his boots, will be looking to build around second-year signal caller Bo Nix after he willed his team to the playoffs with no running game. George Paton was aggressive during the free agency period, doing an excellent job of taking advantage of Nix being on a rookie deal. Paton’s huge additions of tight end Evan Engram, safety Talanoa Hufanga, and linebacker Dre Greenlaw gave them enough cushion not to make an irrational decision at either of those positions during the draft.

Denver Broncos' biggest needs in the 2025 NFL Draft

The Broncos defense ranked third in the whole NFL in total points allowed the previous year, as per FOX Sports. While looking to bolster the defensive line and secondary is always an option, Denver is in pretty good shape going into the season with the defense. The following needs are a must if the Broncos want to go deep in the playoffs:

Tight End

The main priority for the Broncos this off-season is a shifty and reliable tight end. Young players like Adam Trautman, Nate Adkins and Lucas Krull have been unsuccessful in this season and are better off been utilized as a full-back. Henceforth, they need some firepower on the receiving front and the 20th pick in the draft is the best way to go about it.

Running Back

Another one of the main priorities on the offensive front is the running back position, as their RB1 Javonte Williams signed with Dallas Cowboys in free agency. No other running back was able to eclipse 600 yards and their best option, apart from Williams, was Bo Nix himself. Henceforth, they also need some running game in the upcoming season.

Wide Receivers

The gap between Courtland Sutton (1,081 yards) and the Broncos' second-most-productive receiver, Marvin Mims Jr. (503 yards), was immense. It becomes easier for the opposition to completely cover a premium wideout like Sutton when there is no secondary pass-catching option aside from him. The Broncos need to be careful, as Sutton is entering the last year of his contract with no quality slot-receivers. According to Sports Illustrated, prominent names like Luther Burden III, Matthew Golden, among others at the wide receiver position met with Denver during pre-draft visits.
