When he started his college football career, Bell played for the South Carolina Gamecocks. After the end of the 2022 season, Bell transferred to Florida and he accumulated 503 receiving yards, 39 receptions, two receiving touchdowns, and a single rushing touchdown. Bell was also named to the Second-team All-ACC in 2023.

Prior to college, Bell attended Valdosta High School in Valdosta, Georgia, where he played as a wide receiver and a tight end. Bell is a former four-star recruit who ended up tearing his ACL in the middle of his senior year in high school. He had originally committed to play college football for Florida but changed his decision to play for South Carolina. In 2021 Duke’s Mayo Bowl, Bell had a brilliant game where he racked up 2 receiving touchdowns, and 159 receiving yards. Bell had a 69-yard touchdown reception from Dakereon Joyner and a 66-yard touchdown reception from Zeb Noland. He received a ton of hype due to his performance but despite his outstanding play, Bell was rarely utilized by South Carolina the following season. Bell’s lack of carries and touches boiled fury in his uncle (Ryan Bell) and his mother (Dolores). This resulted in them sharing tweets on X regarding the lack of usage by the Gamecocks’ coaching staff which ultimately led Bell enter the transfer portal.
