He is a versatile defender who can play press-man, off-man, and zone-heavy teams. He has sharp eyes as he is quick to see route runners and does not hesitate when it comes to tackling players who are bigger than him.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, Lassiter attended American Christian Academy in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, United States. The former four-star recruit was a multi-talented athlete who played basketball, football, and baseball, and also ran track in high school. Lassiter also played the wide receiver spot and accumulated a total of 2,488 yards and 35 touchdowns. He committed to play his college football for Georgia over other programs such as Auburn, Clemson, and Georgia Tech.
