McCollum then decided to enroll into the University of North Carolina to play for the Tar Heels. However, he was not able to match his 2022 production and decided to opt out of the NFL draft.
He appeared in 10 games, while starting five of them in 2023. He went on to finish the season with 44 receptions and 469 yards. He was twice named ACC WR of the week last year.
