Born in Tyler, Texas, on September 17, 1995, the 28-year-old went to Whitehouse High School in Texas where he was a multisport athlete. He then went to Texas Tech University where he concentrated on his football career for the Texas Tech Red Devils football team. Mahomes was the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft. He was picked by the Kansas City Chiefs, the team that goes hand-in-hand with Mahomes’ success.

Patrick Mahomes Conference Championships Record

Mahomes has a 4-2 record in AFC Championship games, with wins against the Titans (2020), Bills (2021), Bengals (2023), and Ravens (2024), and losses to the Patriots (2019) and Bengals (2022).

Following his win over the Titans in the 2019 AFC Championship game, he led the Chiefs to victory in Super Bowl LIV, defeating the 49ers 31-20.

After defeating the Bills in the 2020 AFC Championship game, Mahomes made his second consecutive Super Bowl appearance but lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV. He then clinched the Super Bowl LVII title by defeating the Eagles 38-35 after beating the Bengals in the 2022 AFC Championship game.

Mahomes made history by advancing to and winning Super Bowl LVIII against the 49ers 22-25, following his win over the Ravens in the 2023 AFC Championship game.

Patrick Mahomes has a total of 11 postseason wins. He is one of the more successful quarterbacks in the NFL when it comes to postseason success. In his six full years in the NFL, Mahomes has played in five postseasons and has compiled a very impressive 11-3 record to date.

Mahomes started his career in 2017 as the backup to Chief’s former quarterback Alex Smith. That year, he did not play any games in the postseason as the Chiefs were knocked out in the Wild Card Round.

Since Mahomes took over the starting duties for the Chiefs in 2018, he has led the team to 5 consecutive AFC Championship Games and all have taken place at the Kansas City Chiefs’ home ground due to which the term ‘Arrowhead Invitational’ has been coined by expert analyst Nick Wright.

Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl Appearances and Record

Patrick Mahomes has been to Four Super Bowls to date and has won three of them. Mahomes’ first Super Bowl appearance came on February 3, 2020, against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. Mahomes had a great game completing 26 of 42 passes for 286 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air. He ended the game winning his first Super Bowl MVP.

Mahomes’ second outing in the big game came the following year when the Chiefs were looking to run it back in Super Bowl LV. Unfortunately, though, Mahomes and the team ran into an aggressive and well-prepared Tampa Bay Buccaneers team while the Chiefs had several missing players on the O-line due to injury. This would be Mahomes’ first loss in the Super Bowl.

Mahomes’ third appearance was in Super Bowl LVII when the Chiefs played the Philadelphia Eagles. In a close encounter, the Chiefs prevailed by a score of 38-35 handing Mahomes the second ring of his career. He was once again named the Super Bowl MVP for his effort.

Mahomes' fourth Super Bowl appearance was against the 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII where Mahomes won his third and second consecutive Super Bowl title.
