Chavano Rainer "Buddy" Hield is a Bahamian basketball player who plays for the Golden State Warriors as of May 2025. Hield was selected sixth overall in the 2016 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans. Hield began his NBA career with the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2016–2017 season. He then played for the Sacramento Kings from 2017 to 2022, followed by a stint with the Indiana Pacers from 2022 to 2024. In 2024, he briefly joined the Philadelphia 76ers before being traded to the Golden State Warriors. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2017 and won the NBA Three-Point Contest in 2020.

Buddy Hield played college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners, finishing his career ranked second in school history with 2,291 points. He is the Big 12’s all-time leading scorer and became just the second player in conference history to win Big 12 Player of the Year twice. Hield attended Jack Hayward High School and was a four-star recruit, ranked 86th nationally by Rivals.com (via his college roster page).
