Born on March 27, 2001, David Roddy is an American basketball player signed with the Atlanta Hawks. He is a versatile swingman who can play as a small forward as well as a power forward. Roddy attended Breck School High School in Golden Valley, Minnesota, where he emerged as a three-star athlete in basketball. He then played college basketball at Colorado State from 2019 to 2022, where he displayed his exceptional two-way ability. Roddy was named the Mountain West Player of the Year in 2022 and secured back-to-back First-Team All-Mountain West honors in 2021 and 2022. Roddy had his best season as a junior in the 2021–22 collegiate season, averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He shot 57.1% from the field and improved his three-point shooting to 43.8%, a big jump from 27.8% the previous season. Roddy's leadership and standout play as a wing player were instrumental in leading the Rams to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013. Roddy’s amazing college exploits were the reason why David Roddy was selected with the 23rd pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft.
