Born on July 3, 2002, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Prosper can play both small forward and power forward. At 16, Prosper enrolled at Lake Forest Academy in Lake Forest, Illinois, to continue his basketball development. He later transferred to the NBA Academy Latin America in Mexico City, Mexico, to finish his high school career. Prosper was rated a four-star recruit and first, he played for Clemson University in the 2020-21 collegiate season but he received only 10 mins per game time and averaged 2.5 points per game. Seeking a bigger role, Prosper transferred to Marquette University, and in his first season with the Golden Eagles, he averaged 6.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. During his junior year, Prosper’s game had significantly improved as he averaged 12.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game.

Eventually, Olivier-Maxence Prosper entered the 2023 NBA Draft and was selected 24th overall in the first round by the Sacramento Kings.
