Trey Lyles is a Canadian professional basketball player who plays for the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in Canada, Lyles was a five-star recruit at Arsenal Tech in Indianapolis, Indiana.

After high school, Lyles played one standout season at the University of Kentucky during the 2014-2015 campaign. In college, he was part of one of the most talented college teams in recent history. Many of his Wildcats teammates from that season, including Devin Booker, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Willie Cauley-Stein went on to have successful NBA careers.

In the 2015 NBA Draft, Lyles was selected with the 12th overall pick by the Utah Jazz. Standing at 6 feet 9 inches, Lyles possesses a soft shooting touch and is known for his ability to stretch the floor as a big man, often operating as a stretch four or stretch five.

Throughout his NBA journey, Lyles has flourished in a shooting big man role for several teams, including the Utah Jazz (2015–2017), Denver Nuggets (2017–2019), San Antonio Spurs (2019–2021), Detroit Pistons (2021–2022), and his current team, the Sacramento Kings (2022–present).
