Cole Kmet, a football tight end for the Chicago Bears, was born on March 10, 1999. The Bears drafted him as the 43rd pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He went to St. Viator High School and they played baseball too, along with football. He also played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in 2017. After this, he enrolled at the University of Notre Dame. In his three seasons with the Fighting Irish, he played in 35 games, starting 18, recording 60 carries for 691 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He also played baseball for the Fighting Irish but followed football professionally.

At the 2020 NFL Combine, Kmet clocked a 40-yard dash in 4.70 seconds, a 37-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot, 3-inch broad jump. After being drafted by the Bears, he signed a rookie four-year contract, which was extended for four more years in 2023. Who are Cole Kmet's parents?

Cole Kmet’s parents are Kandace and Frank Kmet, according to the Chicago Bears website. However, not much is available about Kandace; Frank, on the other hand, is a former NFL defensive end. Cole’s siblings include Frankie, Casey and Copper.

The Chicago Bears website claims that Frank and Kandace Kmet lived in Lake Barrington with their four children before relocating to Arlington Heights. Further, they report that Cole's grandfather, Dave Kmet, passed away in November 2020 from COVID-19 and pulmonary fibrosis. He was married to Marcia for 56 years, and had four children, including Bears lineman Frank Kmet in the 1990s, 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He also taught gym at Niles North High School, where he spent 30 years as the head baseball and soccer coach and was a well-liked teacher.

Cole Kmet's Father

Kmet's father, Frank Kmet, attended John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and excelled in both wrestling and football. It was during his second year of high school that he received a diabetes diagnosis. In his senior year, the Chicago Tribune selected him all-state. Kmet joined Purdue University's second-ranked recruiting class in the country and committed to the school. He played football at Purdue University from 1988 to 1991.

Frank's college career ended when he broke his leg during the 28-7 victory over Wisconsin in October 1991. In the fourth round of the 1992 NFL draft, he was selected by the Buffalo Bills. He also played with the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, and Green Bay Packers, but he never made an appearance in an NFL game due to the leg injury sustained in 1991, which never fully recovered.
