From Bray Wyatt and John Cena's insanely surreal Firefly Fun House Match to Drew McIntyre dethroning Brock Lesnar as the new WWE champion, Night 2 of WrestleMania 36 featured several contrasting moments.

As a whole, WrestleMania 36 has been the most unique and bizarre edition of the Showcase of The Immortals in decades. Due to the outbreak, WrestleMania 36 wasn't going to be perfect in any way.

But WWE took advantage of the situation to deliver gems like the Boneyard and the Firefly Fun House Match. Sunday's card was more stacked as compared to the previous night.

Here are the five biggest news stories from WrestleMania 36 Night 2 (April 5, 2020).

#5: Charlotte Flair became the new NXT Women's Champion

Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley kicked off Night Two's proceedings with the NXT Women's Title at stake.

As good as this match was, WWE didn't invest a lot of creative energy building towards Flair vs. Ripley in the first place. However, the bout featured impressive storytelling from both women involved.

Ripley put on a great showcase and dominated most of the match, while Charlotte made her opponent look as strong as possible. This is exactly what Ric Flair would have done back in the day.

Even though Charlotte is the new Champion, Ripley proved to be the star of the match.

The Queen doesn't have anything left to do on RAW or SmackDown. So a move to NXT will prove to be a fresh start for Charlotte Flair. Not only will she face fresh opponents, but her presence will also attract more attention to WWE's third brand.

Moreover, this leaves room for Rhea Ripley to get even against her WrestleMania rival in the future.

#4: Mandy Rose and Otis finally ended up together in a feel-good WrestleMania moment

It is no secret that Otis, Mandy Rose, and Dolph Ziggler's love triangle was one of the best storylines on the Road to WrestleMania 36.

Usually, angles of such nature are brushed off as cheesy and outdated in the modern era of Professional Wrestling. However, Otis and Mandy's genuine onscreen chemistry resonated with a lot of WWE fans.

Also, Otis is the most lovable personality on the Blue brand right now.

On last week's SmackDown, it was revealed that Sonya Deville and Dolph Ziggler had manipulated Otis and Mandy's Valentine's Date all along. This meant that something big was going to happen when Otis got his hands on The ShowOff at the Showcase Of The Immortals.

When Deville distracted the referee on Ziggler's behalf, Mandy came out and slapped her teammate. She hit a low blow on Ziggler before Otis defeated his rival with the caterpillar.

In the end, the good guy always gets the girl. This has been a storytelling trope forever, and it somehow works in 2020 as well.

#3: Edge defeated Randy Orton in an emotional ending to their Last Man Standing Match

This was the longest WrestleMania 36 match that clocked around 36 minutes of runtime.

Edge and Randy Orton's rivalry has been impeccable ever since The Rated-R Superstar returned to WWE.

The core belief surrounding this feud has always been that "less is more". Several weeks ago, when Orton cut a promo and delivered an RKO to Beth Pheonix, people weren't in shock because of the RKO itself. The fans had soaked in the smaller, more effective aspects of The Viper's amazing promo before the RKO actually happened.

Their Last Man Standing Match followed the same guiding principle, where emotions took over the moves itself. The bout wasn't extreme from start-to-finish. It did drag in places where the performer's prime objective seemed to give the viewers a grand tour of WWE's Performance Center.

But with the "less is more" ideology in mind, the match reached a tipping point towards the latter portion of the bout, which is when some of the bigger spots occurred. This way, the spots felt earned on both Edge and Orton's behalf.

Towards the end, Edge knocked out The Viper with a submission, and that was it for Randy Orton. However, Edge stopped the referee's count and started weeping. He went on to smash Orton's head between two chairs for the bittersweet victory.

The final sequence of the match was wrestling psychology at its best.

#2: John Cena faced his own insecurities in the most surreal match in WrestleMania history

WrestleMania 36 will always be remembered for re-enforcing the ideology that, ironically, wrestling is never the most important aspect of Professional Wrestling, to begin with.

Bray Wyatt has used this medium as a portrait to conjure his own surrealistic fantasies. However, the Firefly Fun House Match wasn't about Bray Wyatt when you think about it.

The whole matchup was a fantasy designed for John Cena to face his own insecurities as a WWE performer over the years.

Cena is the equivalent of Superman in WWE. The fact that he is regarded as seemingly perfect on the outside is the same burden that Superman has to deal with in the fictional realm of superheroes.

The nWo reference was a reminder of how Cena is often regarded as the guy who used to "bury" his opponents in the past. It was as if Cena was being mocked throughout the match.

Just like how their WrestleMania 30 encounter was supposed to be about Bray Wyatt, last night's Firefly Fun House Match was all about John Cena.

Both men lost in their respective cases, and as a character, Wyatt succeeded at poking through John Cena's seemingly "perfect" image to reveal an insecure man underneath all the hustle, loyalty, and respect.

#1: Drew McIntyre became "The Chosen One" and dethroned Brock Lesnar as the new Universal Champion

Brock Lesnar passed the torch to Drew McIntyre during the main event of the second and final night of WrestleMania 36.

The match itself was short and straightforward, but it clearly established Drew McIntyre as a force to be reckoned with. The man kicked out of several F5's and beat Brock Lesnar at his own game.

Viewers would have loved to see this go down in front of 80,000 screaming fans. But coronavirus had other plans, and McIntyre's WrestleMania moment was relegated to the confines of WWE's Performance Center.

It was still a glorious moment for fans who have supported him since the past decade. The Chosen One has come a long way since 3MB.

After surviving several F5's, McIntyre delivered several Claymores to pick up the victory. Paul Heyman's "spoilers" became irrelevant for the first time in a long time. It will be interesting to see how Monday Night RAW shapes up with a brand-new leader under these unique times.
