The WWE Speed Championship is the top title for the wrestlers competing in WWE Speed on X. The WWE Speed Championship is a newly established men's professional wrestling championship created for matches that go no longer than 3 minutes.

Current WWE Speed Champion

Ricochet is the current and the inaugural WWE Speed Champion. He won the title by defeated Bronson Reed in the tournament finals. He is also the first person to ever win a match on WWE Speed.

History of the WWE Speed Championship

On February 9, 2024, WWE announced the launch of a new weekly video series titled WWE Speed on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). Initially, the concept involved matches with a five-minute time limit. However, WWE commentator Corey Graves revealed on March 27, 2024, that the show would premiere on April 3rd with a revised format featuring three-minute matches.

An eight-person single-elimination tournament was announced to crown the inaugural WWE Speed Champion. This tournament would unfold over the first few episodes of the program.

Inaugural WWE Speed Champion Tournament

The inaugural champion is currently being determined through the aforementioned eight-person tournament broadcasted on WWE Speed. The first episode, which aired on April 3, 2024, showcased Ricochet defeating Dragon Lee in the opening round. A second episode followed shortly after, featuring Bronson Reed emerging victorious against Cedric Alexander. JD McDonagh defeated Axiom and Johnny Gargano defeated Angel to advance further in the tournament. In the second round, Ricochet defeated McDonagh and Bronson Reed defeated Johnny Gargano to punch their tickets into the tournament finals. In the finals, it was Ricochet who became the first-ever WWE Speed Champion.

WWE Speed is a weekly professional wrestling program produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Launched in April 2024, the show airs exclusively on the social media platform X. Each episode features a single fast-paced match between wrestlers from WWE's Raw, SmackDown, and NXT brands.
