Alex Caruso during Houston Rockets v Oklahoma City Thunder: Semifinals - Emirates NBA Cup 2024

Alex Caruso is an American basketball player who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA as of March 2025. Despite going undrafted in the 2016 NBA draft, he joined the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2016 Summer League. He was signed by the Oklahoma City Thunder the same year. The team later waived him in October 2016. Caruso landed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers due to his performances with the team at the 2017 NBA Summer League. His impressive performances, notably stepping up in the absence of Lonzo Ball, earned him a spot on the roster.

Caruso contributed to the Lakers winning the NBA Championship in 2020, solidifying his status as a valuable asset on a championship-caliber team. When Caruso became an unrestricted free agent in 2021, the Lakers couldn’t retain him due to salary cap constraints. The Chicago Bulls seized the opportunity and signed him. In his second season with the Bulls, Caruso earned a spot on the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2023. However, after three seasons with the Bulls, Caruso was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in July 2024. In 2024, Alex Caruso was part of the team helping to sustain the place in the Finals of the NBA Cup. Unfortunately, the team lost to the Milwaukee Bucks.
